I could try to tell you
of all the stories
that unfold
within this ribcage,
but would you believe me?
I have opened up
to lesser mortals
in the past
who have taken my truths
and ground them
into the dirt,
making a mockery
of the trauma that is me—
is it really worth
all that heartache
on repeat?
