release me from regret,
for it is within
your broken promise
that I am wounded and beset
by a thousand poisoned lies
that form the foundation
of who you are—
you're the demon
that haunts my dreams,
the dark and toxic star
that I am reluctantly
drawn towards,
and it's a place I can
no longer be—
I'm not strong enough
to resist you,
so please set me free.
