⤞destined

I am sin,
cloaked in mulberry twilight,
but you'll only
ever see the blue;

I am despair,
dressed in delicate dahlias,
waiting for the fall
to ensue;

I am a sad, simple lament,
a ballad of yesterday;
I am my hopes
for tomorrow,
that seem so far away;

I am a promise
set in stone,
yet wreathed in betrayal,
hurt and lies,
and flowers
that never bloomed—

a love destined
to always die.
