Before All Hallows' Eve,
and your ghost
chills my bones,
I weave incantations
and cast spells to atone
for the wrongs
in my life, and the
debts that I owe—
I can't hide them from you,
for I know that you'll know—
and with the promise
of winter,
as Samhain draws near,
I will welcome you in,
and wait for your spirit
to appear.
