Eddie was the most excited Ana had ever seen him when she told him the news. They were walking with Regulus, who they had forgotten was completely clueless on the whole matter, on their way to dinner. Despite the crowd of students shuffling alongside them, Ana had informed Eddie without suspicion.

Most people at Hogwarts had their own issues to deal with and couldn't care less about random fifty years.

"What are you talking about?" Her twin asked, his brows furrowed. His face was so screwed up in confusion that Ana had to stifle a laugh. He truly looked like Grandfather's twin, if Grandfather had been the result of first-cousin incest.

"You didn't tell him?" Eddie turned to her, an accusatory laugh about to spill from his lips.

"I thought you would! You do share a dorm."

"Can't you just tell me?"

After stalling for a bit for the simple reason to annoy Regulus, Eddie let up and told him the gist of the plan using a mix of code words and a few heinous hand signals that made Ana wince.

As they sat, Regulus gave Eddie a very uncertain look. "And you came up with this?"

"That was a bit rude. But no, not really. Some guy a long time ago did so we're going to see if it still works."

"If it works at all," Ana corrected.

"Hmm."

Eddie immediately began shoveling shepherd's pie into his mouth, much to Ana's disgust. Half of it fell off his spoon back into the misshapen heap on his plate.

"So I'm making this potion?" Regulus asked disdainfully.

"If us common people can't do it, then yes."

"Why am I doing the work for your guys' project? Feels a bit hypocritical if you ask me."

Regulus was only rarely stupid, and this was one of those moments. Ana paused her bite of soup to stare at him in disbelief.

"What? I'm serious."

"No, you're Reg-"

They both ignored Eddie. "Think about what we have to do if this doesn't work and then get back to me," Ana answered his question with her eyebrows raised.

He turned a sickly shade of green. "Yeah, okay."

Today had been a good day, especially in comparison to the last few months of Anastasia's life. She had woken up early enough to do something nicer to her hair. Little things like that would put her in a good mood for the rest of the day.

She had made eye contact with Remus on her way to Transfiguration, and he had glanced back after to take a second look at her hair. She hoped he liked it, too.

On top of that, her classes had been easy enough, so she hadn't experienced any self-deprecating thoughts about her academic stupidity. And Regulus and Eddie had been in a similarly good mood, so all had gone well. Their strange interaction hiccup seemed to resolve itself.
