Chapter 16: The Demon Behind The Mask

What seemed like an impossible task was proven to be quite possible...no really, it was an impossible task of taking down Speed Demon and yet, Barry Allen ran into the pipeline with Speed Demon in his arms as he dropped him to the ground

But before he closed the cell, he made sure that this time, Speed Demon couldn't get out, and the way to do that...well Barry took a page out of his old friend Harry's play book and dampened Speed Demon's power to harness the speed force, and he didn't take chances, so he gave him enough to where if he was just a normal man...he'd probably be dead

Barry backs out of the cell with a smirk and victory on his face as he presses the panel and the cell door closes as he turns around and walks out of the pipeline

As he walked down the hallway, he saw Bart, Nora and Iris walking towards him

The three of them, especially Bart and Nora couldn't believe that Barry was walking right now...let alone alive

Iris let's out a small gasp as she saw the bruises on Barry's face, but that gasp turns into a smile as she just happy to see her husband was alive

But for Nora and Bart...concern settled in...it was harder for them to believe that he just won, that he just walked away from a fight with the king of Central City..no one has ever walked away from a fight with Speed Demon..the same and while he looked okay, the sister and brother duo were sure that his fight against the devil was affecting him

Barry didn't even muster any words to his family as he just walks and pulls the three of them into a hug

But Nora asks the question that was on everyone else's mind

Nora: What happened to Speed Demon?

The four of them pull away as a smile lightens up Barry's face

Barry: Yeah, I got him. I took him down and I won.

Bart and Nora glanced at each other both knowing full well that there was no way..no chance that he just won..his future self didn't even defeat Speed Demon and yet he did....not a chance

So many had tried and so many had failed so Nora and Bart were sure that Henry had something up his sleeve....he always did

Bart: Really, dad? You're sure?

Barry puts his hand on Bart's shoulder as he replies

Barry: I'm sure. Speed Demon won't be a problem.

Iris sighs in relief as she puts her arm around Barry as the two of them start walking as Bart and Nora just stand there confused...their whole plan was to come back in time and their family would help Henry but yet...why did it seem so easy? Nora glanced at Barry and Iris as she heard Barry say something that changes everything

Barry: And get this, before I took him down, he took his mask off.

Nora & Bart: What!?

The brother and sister duo say in unison as their parents stop in place and turn to their children

And that was it...that's why it seemed so easy, because Henry took his mask off but for what? Why would he do that? Both Nora and Bart knew that this problem wasn't solved...it was far from over

Iris: Guys, what's wrong?

Nora didn't answer Iris' question as she stepped forwards while keeping her gaze on Barry

Nora: You're sure he took his mask off? Like by his own free will?

Barry chuckles with confusion as he nods and looks at Iris before looking back at Nora
