Chapter 26: More Things Change

Anger

That's what it felt like every time Henry looked or even thought about his father, the sheer mention of his name was enough to cause snap at anyone. He despised everything their was to know about Barry Allen. His hope, his love, the way he had the desirable need to help people, everything about him made him hate what he stood for

But now here was a part of the team. He was determined to get rid of Cicada and in order to go home he'd have to do the one thing he never wanted to do....he'd have to put his anger for his father to the side and work with him

He didn't enjoy it one bit, he wanted nothing more than just to leave and go home but he knew the uncertainties of what lies ahead in the future

And that's why he was forced to be apart of their team which he regretted more than anything.

But maybe it did have its advantages...Caitlin was apart of the team

Though there was one thing, he always did when he was angry...he ran; and that's why he was running around in the speed lab

When he was running it was like nothing else even mattered...like all the anger he had was nothing but dust and so he could run to just let himself be free

Henry came out of the speed lab after a little bit of running, he was without a shirt and sweat ran down his forehead; he walked over to the table and grabbed a towel

He rubs it against his face as he gets an idea and snaps his fingers as he ran out of the speed lab and returned in a blink of an eye as he ran around in a circle

He stops running and there was now a weight set in the middle of the floor

He sits down on it and lays back as he puts his hands on the weight and begins to lift up and down

Caitlin arrived at the speed lab as she put her hand against the wall and saw Henry working out..it still nudged in her mind..what he told her the first time they met when he was in his suit

It was like his voice kept whispering into her ear and he would keep saying

Speed Demon: I would never kill you.

She couldn't get it out of her head. The voice that was supposed to be utter evil but instead, it was like it was calling to her

She was so focused on Henry that she failed to see Nora arrive and stand next to her as Nora waves her hand in front of her

Caitlin snaps out of it as she clears her throat and looks at her

Nora slightly chuckles as she asks

Nora: Are you uh watching my brother?

Caitlin awkwardly scoffs as she answers her question

Caitlin: What? No. No. No. No. I was not.

Nora: Oh uh well I don't care if you were, I was just gonna tell you that he doesn't like when people watch him. It's a pet peeve he has.

Caitlin looks back at Henry as she nods and bites her lip as Nora turns and goes to walk away but something was eating away at the doctor and she needed to get down to the bottom of it

Caitlin: Why do you wanna save him so badly?

Nora stops walking hearing her question as Caitlin turns around to her as Nora spins and looks at her...she could see the curiosity in Caitlin's eyes..she could see how interested she was

And for the first time ever, Nora was being asked that question by someone who wasn't hell bent on bringing him down that they fail to realize Henry is or was a good person
