Night's getting deeper, some kids are heading to sleep, but the adults stay awake. But the night's still young for me and I would've rather meet the sunrise. Hindi ko alam, but back at home, when everything seems to be so quiet, everything gets so noisy. Or maybe I was just overthinking which somehow led me to get asleep over time.

I pushed him away, but I saw how he saved the wine glasses on his wine na hindi matapon. Tinawanan niya lang din naman ako and that never gets old.

"Wine?"

"You know I don't—"

I snatched the glass from his hand. It spilled a little kaya tinawanan pa rin niya ako. Something in his laugh annoys me but made me smile on the other hand. Ininom ko ang wine na binigay niya sa akin and that immediately slide through my throat and made me cough so hard.

Muli niya akong tinawanan. "Gusto mo ng tubig?"

I scrunched my face, shaking my head. Cholo would laugh at you, but Cholo would also care for you at the end of the day. He's been like that since the time I met him and I guess all the people who have met him, would say the same thing.

"We only get a chance to do this when someone's offering. It's hard to decline the offer, you know?"

"Sus.

"It was free."

"That's what I meant!" he reasoned. "Iniiba mo pa ibigsabihin ko, e. Hindi ka na lang um-oo."

I didn't answer his statement and shrugged it off.

We're just laying on the floor on the mat they've prepared on the deck. This day has been tiring for all of us and the fact that we needed some time for ourselves and the Monets thought this would be a good idea, especially for the adults.

"What do you think for the past few days, Cholo?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"Saan?"

I shrugged. "Anything? General? Dito sa biyahe natin?"

He hummed. "We could've done better."

My face come in surprise when he mentioned that. Thought that was absurd to think after all the things we did.
