It's no wonder we can't
Convince the next generation
To live
To thrive
To even survive
It's a hopeless situation
Our existence on Earth
That cannot be fixed without
Breaking everything first
There's no point in trying
To save something dying
So we all sit and watch
As it perishes slowly
It's all they will ever know
So I say to you
Save your tears
And silence your lies
Do not be afraid
To cry alone at night
For an expectation
To be saved by the damned
Makes the mind live in stagnation
And there's only so much one can
Understand
I ask of you
No, I beg of you
Hear my words and hear them well
Nobody wants to save us
Nobody wants to comfort us
Nobody will ever fix us
We're lacking in company
The carnage and death
Has driven them all away
It's all we shall ever know
That despite how hard we hope
Despite how much we pray
We are
Painfully and wholly
Entirely
Alone...
