I sat on the hood of a car in the fourth level, Derek and I waiting in the shadows as we waited for Scott to appear and load in his groceries.

"Are you sure this is a good idea? I mean, the kid's been through enough for one day, don't you think?" I asked him.

"I said we'd train him, Parker. I never said when. Now get ready. He's coming out." my brother answered, the two of us melting into the shadows and hearing a door close far off in the distance.

A milk carton rolled my way and I looked at Derek, getting my claws out and light scraping along the bottle and rolling it back out into the light.

Derek growled low in his throat and I looked at him with a slight smile. Training or not, scaring this kid actually turned out to be a little fun.

"Other side. I'll go after him." I ran out of the shadows and fully shifted into a wolf. I was one of the rare wolves that have become evolved enough to shift into a full wolf.

I howled as I chased after Scott, enjoying seeing the fear in his eyes a little as we continued our little game of tag; car alarms blared loudly, disorienting me and making me run straight into a cement pillar. Once my moment of confusion wore off, I walked towards the sound of a phone and saw Derek had pinned Scott down onto the hood of a car.

"You're dead." Derek told Scott, helping him up.

Scott looked at me and his eyes widened. "What the hell is that?!"

I looked up at Derek and he took off his leather jacket, putting it around my fur pelt and having me shift back into my human form, startling Scott.

"Wait. Parker? That was you chasing me?" Scott asked me.

"Yeah." I confirmed, pulling my brother's jacket around my body.

"Hey. Stop looking at my sister like that, you hormonal teen!" Derek snapped at Scott.

"Sorry. It's just that she's—"

"Yes, Scott. I'm naked. Now get your eyes off me." I told him, moving behind my brother.

"Sorry. Sorry." Scott apologized, changing the subject. "So what was the deal with that back there?"

"I said we'd train you. I didn't say when." Derek answered.

Scott scoffed. "Okay. But I-I was fast, right?"

"Not fast enough." I answered.

"Okay....but the car alarm thing. That was smart." Scott added.

I nodded. "Up until your phone rang."

"Look, Parker and I are what we are because of birth. You were bitten. Bitten wolves take time. I'm not even sure we can teach you." Derek said, grabbed Scott's phone to show a missed call from Allison. "You see this? This is why I caught you. You want to learn? Get rid of her."

"Why? Because of her family?" Scott asked.

In answer, Derek smashed Scott's phone against the wall, smashing it to bits.

"What the hell?!" Scott said in frustration.

"You're getting mad? Good. That's your first lesson." Derek told him.

"I can get angry." Scott said.

"Not angry enough! Getting angry is the only way I can teach you! Now. Can you stay away from her? At least until after the full moon?" Derek asked.
