"Are you serious?"
"Come on, Jess, please. Do it for me!" I pleaded
"No, I'm not wearing a suit," He said.
"Well, what if I said you get to wear gloves too?" I smirked.
"Your kidding."
"Not one bit,"
"I hate you so much right now," He groaned
"It'll wear off," I smirked
"I'm gonna look so stupid!" He said as we walked into the living room to see Rory Dean and Lane watching a video of Neil young.
"What are you guys doing?" I asked as I sat on the floor next to Jess
"Trying to convince Dean to wear a suit," Rory said,
"Can you try to convince Jess too?
"It's not gonna work," Lane said
"Worth a shot," I shrugged.
"Tails," Lane said
"What?" Dean said
"Absolutely not," Jess spoke.
"Yeah, according to this, all escorts must be properly attired in black tails, white cummerbund, and white gloves," Lane said. Dean and Jess turned to Rory and me.
"I'm sure the gloves are optional," I said
"Not according to this..." Lane spoke
"Tails?!" Dean and Jess both shouted.
"Remember Neil Young, remember you love me. Remember I'll be watching battlebots with you for a month." Rory said to Dean, he sighed as he laid back on the couch.
"Show me, Neil Young, again," He spoke
"Wait! What reason do I have to do this? I can still say no!" Jess shouted.
"I'll uhm, I'll repay you, anything you want!" I begged
"Anything?" He smirked, shit, I'm gonna regret this.
"Anything in the whole word!"
"Fine," He said. We then heard a honk outside.
"Dad!" Rory shouted before running outside.
"So what do you want?" I asked him
"You'll know when the time comes."

---------------------

Dean, Rory, Jess, and Me were not at miss Patty's for our dance class. I had little to no composure. Not only was I holding his hand, but he had his hand on my waist, and was quite enjoying my lack of composure.
"Come on, at least look at me," He smirked,
"Look each other in the eye!" Miss pattie shouted, Jess's smirk grew bigger as I looked into his eyes. "Dean, Jess, are you leading?"
"I have no idea," Dean groaned and Miss pattie turned off the music.
"Now, one of the most important things in ballroom dancing is to remember to spot, otherwise, your gonna get dizzy. You need to pick something to focus on. I usually like to find a lonely seaman." She explained, "Then when you're turning, whip your head around, and find that thing again." She then started doing what she explained, but saying "hello sailor" Every time she turned to face us. "Now you try it!" She said as she turned to music back on, Jess and I turned to face each other
"Are you serious?" He asked
"If you don't do this, then I can't, and if I don't do this, my mom will kill me. You don't want me dead, do you?" I argued. He sighed.
"Take it from the top," Miss pattie spoke before the four of us started dancing again. I felt butterflies in my stomach as Jess placed his hand back on my waist, I tried to look away and hide my red face
"Eye contact," He reminded me, I looked up to see a huge grin on his face. Lorelai and Chris then walked in
"Hey! You guys are getting better, now you're actually facing each other!" Lorelai said. all of us sighed.
"Anyone need a break?" Chris asked as he held a tray of coffee
"Okay, take five, but don't sit down, your muscles will get cold!" Miss pattie said before going outside for a smoke. Jess removed his hand from my waist and I took my hand off his shoulder, but I hadn't noticed that he was still holding onto my hand.
"So, how's it going?" Lorelai asked
"Actually, I'm not very good," Rory said
"I'm worse than her," I said
"Impossible," Rory said
"Very possible. She can't even keep eye contact," Jess said. Lorelai then, not to my acknowledgment, looked at me and Jess's entwined hands and smirked before looking at Rory, who was also smirking
"At one point, she made us sit in a corner and watch," Rory said.
"Ballroom dancing is a wonderfully sexist thing, any woman can do it. All she needs is a strong lead." He said before turning to Lorelai and grabbing her hand "May I have this dance?"
"Do you have a trust fund?" Lorelai took his hand "Always make sure," She said before they started dancing. Only when they finished and I pulled my hand out of Jess's to clap, did I realize he hadn't let go of my hand, I looked at my hand, and back at him, who had a smug look on his face as I rolled my eyes.
