When it finally started the sound of drums ruptured your ears. Cheers of delight roared around you. Children were running around carelessly as people started to make their way toward the large fire pit. Their bodies started to bounce in turn with the drums until they were in perfect sync with each other, all dancing to the same beat. The fire livened their movements as it added a blazing lightness to their movements. You were sitting next to Rotxo when you saw Olo'eyktan and his family. They looked spectacular in their attire, you didn't think Ronal or Tsireya could get any more beautiful. But, there they were looking more fetching than usual. "Wow, they look amazing." You heard a chuckle next to you and the drums landing on that new clear sound. "Look over there (Y/N), they are showing the steps to the next dance." Turning your head to where Rotxo was pointing you saw children being shown how to dance.
Faoare was a Na'vi girl who was renowned for her dancing, though you had never seen her dance yourself. She definitely knew what she was doing though, as her arms moved to show the children the next move it gave the wave of an ocean. Her wider arm made any movement look as if she was the sea. "Do you want to join them?" Looking back to Rotxo you realized you were smiling and leaning toward Faoare's direction. You didn't know how to respond, you weren't really one for dancing but it looked fun. "Come, we can learn together." Rotxo started getting back up again, you felt giddy hoping you could dance as well as Faoare. "Rotxo? You going to dance?" You peered over Rotxo's shoulder, and it looked as though Ao'nung was seeing you for the first time. "Yeah, (Y/N) and I were just on our way to learn from Faoare." You tilted your head, moving further out of Rotxo's shadow. "Want to join us?" You had never seen Ao'nung dance but the idea of it delighted you. He however did not respond to you, he was just looking at you. "Ao'nung?" He snapped out of whatever he had been thinking and answered. "Sure, yeah, I'll come along."
Learning from Faoare was just like learning from Tsireya, she had a soothing voice as she had you mimic her movements. Surprisingly to you, copying her wasn't difficult for you. For once something came naturally to you. Although maybe you were just getting so used to Na'vi life that learning something new was becoming effortless. "Am I doing this right Faoare?" One of the kids in the front was having a hard time with the footing. "Yes Inmu, just lift your arms higher." She did as she was told, and Faoare went back to instructing the next move. Though you felt confident in your moves you noticed that Faoare hadn't looked at you once. It was like you were a ghost to her, someone that didn't exist. You didn't mind too extensively as you felt ready and eagerly waited for the next dance to start.
"Come everyone, the next dance is starting." You let the children fall in line first, not that they gave you much room to try and settle in sooner. "Ready (Y/N)?" You gave a quick nod to Rotxo as you entered the circle around the fire. The breath inside you was fastening and maturing an outburst. Something in you was ready to explode, your body began to shudder with impatience. You awaited the sound of the drums, your heart already giving a sound that was beating. When you looked down you could see your body moving to your own sound. Then the first beat sounded the dance, and your heart felt the ground shake into your body lighting that spark. Everything clicked the steps, the rhythm, your posture, the lightness of the dance. You moved like light underwater, blazing your path, shifting your foot, and turning. Everything felt strong in your core, and your limbs felt light.
Your heart began beating in sync with the drums, and the drum's heavy song was fogging your mind. Letting your body take over on its own, still shifting along to the piece. It felt natural to you, spinning along, letting the fire reach your whole body. It warmed your back for a moment before it again heated another side to you. Still letting that electrifying tempo take control over you. You wished for this feeling to last forever, after all, feeling as though you were doing everything right was foreign to you. And yet it felt invigorating, giving you what you needed to hit that last step in the dance fiercely. When the drums stopped you blinked lazily before looking up, meeting dozens of eyes that were laid upon you. "Uh." It was a squeak that came out of your mouth, you quickly walked off. While dancing you had completely forgotten about the audience. "(Y/N)!" Snapping you out of your embarrassment was Rotxo. "(Y/N)! That was amazing! Have you always been able to dance like that?"
