A few days had passed since the pool incident, and besides occasionally leaving to grab some food downstairs, you kept hidden in your room. Kuina had told you to do so, giving time and space for Niragi to calm the fuck down. Apparently he had lost it that night, injuring a few party-goers so badly in his attemps to find me that they were sent to The Beaches version of an infirmary. You shiver at the memory of his touch, who knows what that guy was capable of. Once again, you had pretty white haired boy to thank for saving you, how infuriating. Regardless, you still decide to stay clear of him. He was unpredictable, and too smart for his own good. You knew it would only end up in your getting hurt. Your days in hiding were spent reading saucy romance novels, working out on the balcony and 2 hour long showers. It definitley could have been worse. It was the late afternoon when a knock sounded on your door, you jump up to investigate. Arisu and Usagi were waiting patiently outside, sending soft smiles between each other, oh they were down bad. They look up, startled by the speed you opened the door, and Arisu clears his throat to explain, "Uh so apparently you are almost out of days on your visa, so we thought you might want to come along with us to a game tonight?" You hadn't even thought about that, it had almost been 3 days since the arena, and your visa would barely have a few hours left. You were used to playing the games alone though, but since you had left it so late you didn't really have a choice but to join them.

"Yeah I guess I don't really have another option do I? Either play or get a giant lazer shot through my head." They laugh uncomfortably, you take a mental note that they didn't really have the same wicked sense of humour as you and Kuina did, it was still nice of them to offer though. "Just give me a second and I'll be right out." You say as you shut the door once again. You hurry back inside to find a cover-up, choosing a flowy white dress would probably do its job for today. There was also an array of shoes to choose from since you had asked Kuina to drop you some more options, and although you had grown quite fond of the wedges, you slipped on a pair of white casual shoes that you had better mobility in. After tying your hair up into a tight ponytail, you join the others outside and make your way down to the exit of The Beach together. Out the front there was crowds of people cheering as they drove off towards the games, they were either not afraid, or doing a great job of pretending not to be. "Let's walk shall we? We have a bit of time left before we need to be there and I need to stretch my legs." Usagi suggested.

You agree, it was something you did before the games too. We begin walking and after a few minutes you question the duo, "So is Kuina going to meet us there or something?"

Arisu shook his head, "Nah Kuina and Chishiya completed their game yesterday, apparently it was a diamond game so they passed it easily. Tatta said he was going to meet us there."

Once again that guys name is brought up, who was he? You decide to question it further, "I keep hearing about this Chishiya person, so I know he is ranked pretty high and he sounds like a diamond player, but why haven't I met him yet?"

Arisu shrugs, "He's usually busy helping run the beach with the other excecutives or scheming some intricate plan, I wouldn't get too close to him anyway he doesn't seem like the trustworthy type."

You would remember that comment, he sounds like someone who would do anything to get his way at the expense of others, not my cup of tea. Although Kuina seemed to think highly of him. We finally reach the game building, it wasn't as large as the last arena and more of an industrial building. As you enter, you observe there was about 20 people in the lobby, the doors hadn't been opened yet. Tatta appears behind you with a nervous smile plastered across his face, he must've driven here. "Its nice to see your face again," He admits, "Hopefully you can start hanging out with us again once we get this game over and done with." You smile in agreement, it was nice to know feel wanted. Arisu then hands you each a phone, and it vibrates as instructions appear on the screen:

ENTER A ROOM ALONE, THEN PICK ONLY ONE OF THE TWO DOORS BEFORE YOU.

We glance at each other, it was a heart game. The main door into the building opened, revealing a hallway of doors labelled from 1-25, you slowly enter with your trio glued to your side, each standing in front of a door. You glance to your left where they all shifted with worried eyes, likely for each other rather than for themselves. "Good luck, remember this game wants to toil with your heart, stay rational." You say confidently earning a chorus of agreement and nods of approval. Taking a deep breath, you open the door marked 17 in front of you and step inside. At first it was dark, then two plain white doors appeared before you. Your phone dinged again, it wrote:

CHOOSE.

A countdown from 20 minutes had begun, you inch closer to the two doors, confused. At first there was silence, then you heard it. Familiar wailing came from the other side of the left door, those cries tearing your walls down, pulling at the strings inside of you. It was the voice of your little sister. You cry out her name, and lurch towards the door, but freeze when you hear another voice, it was Tatta. He calls out your name, but it was coming from the other door. Gasping, it hits you. You can only choose one, you had to pick a door. Screams of agony pour from both sides, what were you supposed to do? The voice of your sister sniffles and calls out, "Please, help me! It hurts, they are hurting me! I want to go home! Take me home!" Tears brim your eyes at the sound of the pain in her voice, she was only 9. Tatta lets out a terrifying howl, "Make it stop, make it stop!" You collapse to the floor, placing your hands over your ears for a moment of silence, but the cries just continue to get louder. "Fuck fuck fuck!" You scream at the doors, "Don't make me choose! Please!" Nothing happened, you had to make a decision. You take a deep shakey breath and head towards your sisters door, she was the reason you were trying so hard to get home, she was your everything. Your hand slid over the handle then you pause. This was a heart game, you needed to remember your own words. Stay rational. You calm yourself, and remove your hand, stepping away from the door. You glance at the phone you had dropped on the floor, it read 5 minutes remaining. You had time. So what do you know? Well you knew Tatta was definately alive, he was really here. He had only just stepped into the room next to you moments ago. Your sister on the other hand, how could she have gotten here? You hadn't seen a kid in the games yet, why would she appear now? Furrowing your brows with frustration you think deeper. This was a heart game, and what would play at your heart more than choosing between two human lives? Escpecially those you care for. It was impossible. Tattas screams increase in volume, his pain was breaking your heart. Picking up your phone you see that only 1 minute remained, you needed to make a decision. You walk towards your sisters door once again, placing your hands flat onto the surface. "Save me! Pick me!" She cried out. With tears streaming down your face, you whisper through the door, "I know your not really there little one. I love you, and we will meet again when I get out of this place." With that, you remove your hands from her door and walk towards the one Tatta was behind, screaming with the pain in your heart as you whip open the door. The cried from the other door instanly stopped, and there was Tatta. He was strapped and sitting in a chair with a lazer beginning to cut through his neck, blood pouring down his side. The lazer had frozen in place now that you had opened the door, and he let out a sigh of relief. You rush forward to release the straps holding him down, carefully avoiding the red beam of light. Folding to the floor once he was freed, he cries in anguish, "Thankyou. I really thought I was going to die"

You can't bring yourself to smile or even comfort him, but extend your hand to help him up. He takes it, and you walk outside the room together. You were about to exit towards the lobby, but glance back at the still closed door that my sisters voice had been behind. "I'll meet you outside ok?" I whisper reassuringly, Tatta nods and stumbles outside. You slowly approach the closed door, heart racing as your hand hovers over the handle. You had to know for sure. Whipping open the door, you find an empty room. You laugh hysterically, thank god, you were right. The laugh turns into a cry, you gasp for air through your tears. Taking a few moments to gather yourself together, you exit both rooms, hoping to god Arisu and Usagi would be out there.

Crying out with relief, you run over and tackle both of your new friends. We were all here, we had all chosen each other. They return the hug and Tatta joins in for the embrace.

"Fuck heart games." You shout, laughing through the tears.
