Klare's POV

I sigh, I'm now fifteen and working at a tea shop in the a town around the outskirts of the fire nation. News of Prince Zuko's banishment has spread to us after a few years and I sigh as I hear more and more customers still speaking poorly of the sixteen year old. I look out the window, going into my thoughts.

'How did such a thing happen?' I thought before my thoughts were interrupted by the door being roughly pushed open and making a loud SLAM noise. I look over to see a boy that seemed to be at least 5 inches taller than me with a hood/hat that hides his face. With the boy was an old man, who was obviously a lot happier to be here than the boy.

The two made their way in and sat down at a table in the corner. After they were seated, I quickly went over to them.

"Greetings. Thank you for coming to this humble tea shop." I say to them with a joyful smile. "It's a pleasure to be here. Two cups of tea please." the old man said and I quickly left them to get what they requested.

When I came back, I had two empty cups in my hands and the tea cup that held the tea was balanced on my head as I walked up to them. "Oh? Impressive balancing, miss." Once again it's the old man.

"No need for flattery, kind sir. It's just a simple habit I've had since I was young. Now, here's your tea." I place the two empty cups in front of them both, calmly remove the tea from atop my head, and pour their tea. "And I hope you don't mind my asking, but what are your names?" I smile kindly at the two them, trying to focus that question mostly to the boy that had been quiet the whole time.

"Why do you want to know?" The boy asks rather rudely. I brush his rudeness off and respond agin, with a kind and even voice and smile. "Well, you kind of remind me of a boy I knew years ago. and kind sir here reminds me of the picture that that boy showed me of his uncle." They seemed surprised and the boy gasped a bit. I panic a bit, thinking that I hit a touchy subject, I quickly bow low. "I'm terribly sorry. I didn't mean to be rude or anything. Forgive my ignorance, the tea is on the house as an apology." I say quickly before I heard the owner call my name. I looked back at her and nod before turning back to the two males.

"Please excuse me, sir strangers. Enjoy the tea." I say with my kind smile and quickly walk back to where the lady owner was. "Oh, I don't know what we'd do without you, Klare. Now, you can go for the rest of the day, and here's your pay." She says as I take off my apron and fold it neatly. "Thank you, it's my pleasure helping out here." I wave as I go to leave through the main entrance.

"I'll see you in the morning!" She calls out as I giggle a bit. I pass by the two strangers as I weave my way through tables to the door. "Oh! Klare!! You forgot your bracelet!" The owner's daughter calls to me, loud enough for everyone in the shop to hear her. I freeze before turning to look in her direction.

"Thank goodness! You're a life saver! Can you toss it to me?" I call back to her. she nods and tosses it. I attempt to catch it, but it goes past me and lands directly in front of the strange boy, he picks it up carefully and looks at it with a gasp. "I'm so sorry, misters, but may I have my bracelet back? It was an important gift given to me when I was younger." I say, holding my hand out to the boy.

He looks at me and I notice a terrible scar on his face but I just continue to smile at him without faltering. After all, even with the scar, he looks pretty handsome. He gives me a distrusting look but I don't mind it. "May I ask who it was that gave you this bracelet?" He asks. "Like I said, it was a gift from an old friend of mine from when I was younger. Now may I have it back, mister stranger? It's my most beloved treasure, after all." He grunts before finally laying the item gently into my hands.

"Thank you. This was the last gift I ever received from my dear friend Zuky before I was forced to lose all contact with him. I'm not sure what I'd do without it." I say, bowing slightly as I put it around my wrist. "Well, have a nice day." and with that, I left.
