Like all good things must come to an end, the two pulled apart panting for breath.
"Wow." Kiara breathed out.
Sirius smirked, "Wow, indeed, mademoiselle."
Kiara looked into his eyes, and Sirius noticed a certain emotion swimming within them.
"How long have you known?"
Sirius grinned, his arms going to her waist, pulling her flush against him. Kiara gasped due to the close proximity.
"Almost a month now, love."
Kiara almost choked on air, "A month? A month? But how? Oh no, did James tell? Why didn't you tell me you knew? Oh gosh." She whimpered, raising a hand to her head, as she suddenly felt lightheaded.
"Hey, hey, calm down."
"But-"
"Shhhhhh." Sirius said, placing a finger on Kiara's lips making her stop her rambling. "Relax. I'll explain everything."
"That's not even my biggest concern right now." She said, trying to wiggle herself out of his grip. "You weren't supposed to find out, not like this and not so soon."
Sirius released her from his embrace, and Kiara immediately stepped back, running a hand through her hair in her nervousness.
"When were you going to tell me then?" Sirius asked.
"I-" Kiara groaned, "Honestly I was so scared of you finding out, I probably wouldn't have told you anytime soon."
"But why?"
"Because, I..." And she looked up at him. Her eyes were red, tears threatening to spill. "Because I don't want to be one of your flings. I would have rather longed for you from afar, then have you use me once and leave like it was nothing."
Sirius' face expressed shock and his eyes were full of the hurt he was experiencing. Was that really how low she thought of him?
"Is that really all you think I do?" He asked, his voice pained.
Kiara shook her head, "No, no, no. Sirius, I know you're much more than that. It's just the reputation you've built, it does cause that fear because you've never been in a relationship." She took in a shaky breath, looking at the ground. "I just didn't want my feelings played with, that's all."
Sirius sighed, stepping forth, and placed a finger under Kiara's chin, tilting her face up, whilst wrapping his arm around her waist.
"I never planned on doing that, darling. I knew you were different from the rest, right from the first letter. I've wanted you for so long now." Sirius brushed a strand of hair from her face and placed it behind her ear. "I want to give it a try, Kiara."
