Chapter 49

Five months later, December 15 1999,

Tracee was getting used to having two children now and for the first time experiencing the newborn fase too, realizing how hard that must've been for her husband while she wasn't there the first time

Gail stayed at the Ranch too, she only went back to New York to sign her partnership at the lawfirm and to tell them she'd take a sabbatical

"I can't believe him" Tracee sighed and joined Gail on the couch once both children were down for their nap

"Who?" Gail asked and rubbed her six month old babybump

"My hypocrite husband, he's right now in the studio, recording, he's the one that told me to take a break and now he's recording" Tracee complained

"Girl you flew to New York last week to boss Will around" Gail reminded her

"I came back to California, didn't I?" Tracee sighed

"Why would you want to leave California anyway?" Gail asked

"I'm a New York girl at heart" Tracee replied 

"You do know you were born in Arizona and I'm the one that was born in New York" Gail reminded her

"Yet you love the Californian heat" Tracee replied

"How are you loving the New York cold?" Gail asked and gasped when she felt her baby kick for the first time

"Don't you think it's time to call Romeo?" Tracee told her

"No, he hasn't showed up in five months either and I don't need him or his lame excuses" Gail answered 

"You do know he's a teacher and can't miss an entire semester" Tracee reminded her

"There's such a thing as a weekend, it's only a short flight to California from New York" Gail replied and rolled her eyes

"But would you have let him go trough the gates?" Tracee asked

"No, but he didn't even try" Gail answered 

----- Meanwhile, 

Michael picked La Toya and Ethan up at the airport

"Look" La Toya smiled and showed her brother the engagement ring Ethan bought her

"What am I looking at? A new nail polish thing?" Michael asked

"No dummy, my engagement ring" La Toya smiled

"I know I had amnesia a while ago, but who are you dating again?" Michael asked her

"Ethan" La Toya answered and pulled her fiance in a hug once he carried their suitcases from the Jet to the car where Michael waited for them

"When did that happen?" Michael wondered

"When I met him for the first time, we imidiatly hit it off and that day Gail ran off we kissed and that's when I decided to go back to New York with him and I stayed too" La Toya replied "I even went to work with him a few times" She smiled

"She really did" Ethan mentioned

"Oh and I met his other mother, of course I know Kaylee and Elijah but Mrs Livingstone I met her too, she's so sweet" La Toya rambled "Oh can we get married at the Ranch? I mean it's the perfect location" She continued

"Eh sure" Michael answered

"Thank you, that's why you're my favorite sibling" La Toya smiled and hugged him before she dragged Ethan into the car with her "Oh don't tell the other's you're my favorite" She mentioned to Michael

"I won't" Michael replied and went back into the car too, to drive them back to the Ranch

Arrived back at the Ranch La Toya stormed inside the house to share her big news with Tracee and Gail while Ethan took their suitcases out of the trunk

"She's excited about the wedding" Ethan smiled

"Have you seen Romeo in New York the last few months?" Michael asked, changing the subject

"A few times, he looked broken from the inside" Ethan answered

"Gail kind of told him to leave and the fool actually did" Michael replied and shook his head

"He said he did leave because he doesn't think Gail is pregnant with his child" Ethan mentioned

"A blind man can see he and Gail love each other" Michael replied

"Yeah, but Romeo seems to think Gail is inlove with someone else, the actual father of her child, but he didn't say who he thinks that is" Ethan mentioned "And I don't think Gail cheated on him" He added

"She's never loved a guy as much as she loves him, he truly broke her heart when he left her at the church that day, she's never really gotten over it and then he was back and told her how sorry he was and they even made plans to get married again, only for him to leave her again when she tells him she's pregnant" Michael replied and shook his head

"I guess he got cold feet" Ethan mentioned

"Or he has serious commitment issues" Michael replied

"So how'd he ask?" Gail asked once La Toya told her and Tracee that Ethan proposed to her

"That was so sweet he was like Toy Toy, that's his cute nickname for me, will you be my wife? And then he handed me this cute little velvet box that had the ring in it and I told him of course I'd love to marry him and then we....we celebrated" La Toya told them "Tracee will you make my dress?" She asked

"Of course" Tracee answered and hugged her

--- Meanwhile in Manhattan,

"I love her, she obviously doesn't love me anymore" Romeo mentioned to the woman sitting next to him at the bar

"Who?" The woman asked

"My fiance, I love her so much, but she's not pregnant with my baby" Romeo sighed

"Are you sure?" The woman asked

"Yes, she didn't want to tell me, but he told her to tell me, that's when I knew it's not my baby, or she would've told me instead of him" Romeo answered 

"You don't make sense right now" The woman mentioned

"You don't understand it, I love her, but she doesn't love me" Romeo sighed

"Did you ask her if she loves you?" The woman asked

"I know she's doesn't anymore" Romeo sighed

"Just ask her to be sure and go from there" The woman advised

"It's pointless, she's not even New York right now" Romeo mentioned

"Then go to wherever she is and tell her you love her and if she loves you too, figure out how to go further" The woman told him

"What if she sends me away?" Romeo asked

"Just go to her and talk" The woman told him "I didn't and now the love of my life married someone else, don't be like me and be forever wondering what if" She continued
