Chapter 25

A few days later,

After Michael and Tracee spend the morning at Michaels parents to tell them about their stay in Africa and about how Tracee is doing so far with the pregnancy they made their way to Dr Williams practice

"Do you have the medical results with you from your stay in Africa?" Dr Williams asked Tracee once the three of them sat down in her office

"No because the last medical person who checked me was you, before we left in March" Tracee answered

"It's the first week of June right now!" Dr Williams gasped

"It's good news tho because I'm still pregnant right now" Tracee told her

"Tracee you're a high risk pregnancy patient with your history of unsuccessful pregnancies and failed IVF treatments" Dr Williams explained

"That's all medical involved people in those pregnancies and all hormone medications adviced by medical people to supposed to have a successful pregnancy, but they all failed didn't they?" Tracee reminded her "However, this current and only so far successful pregnancy is no medical people or any kind of hormone medications involved, it's a pure like nature intended pregnancy" she continued and rubbed her baby bump "Which brings me to my next topic, I want an at home birth" she added

"As your doctor I can't-" Dr Williams began

"Hell yes you will allow that, it's my baby, my body and my pregnancy" Tracee interrupted her

"You can't let her go trough with that" Dr Williams told Michael

"Maybe we can find a compromise somewhere? Like it doesn't have to be in a hospital or anything but a medical team present to assist if needed?" Michael suggested

"I'm not giving birth in a hospital, I've lost both my other babies in a hospital, I'm not risking to loose this one there too" Tracee mentioned

"Please do consider-" Dr Williams tried

"No, I'm leaving now, bye" Tracee interuppted her and stormed out of the room, almost knocking over the security guard who was there for her safety

"Convince her to have her baby in a hospital or at least something like that" Dr Williams told Michael

"If she truly wants something it's Tracee's way or the highway and in this case she truly wants to have an at home birth" Michael answered

"But you're the child's father and her husband and you want her and your child to be safe right?" Dr Williams reminded him

"Of course, but I'm not going to make my pregnant wife even more stressed than she already is because of the past failed pregnancies" Michael told her

"That's why she needs to give birth in a hospital" Dr Williams told him

"I know" Michael sighed before he left to find Tracee who already sat in the car with the security

"What did she say?" Tracee asked crossing her arms

"I should convince you to give birth at the hospital" Michael answered

"I hate hospitals so it's not happening" Tracee mentioned

"I know, let's just focus on the pregnancy for now, no stress remember?" Michael mentioned

"Yeah, well while we're in the state let's see your mother again to tell her about the appointment, before we go back to Manhattan?" Tracee suggested changing the subject and wanting to see Katherine for some advice

"Good idea" Michael smiled

After spending the late afternoon and having dinner at Katherine's place they flew back to Manhattan

"Fine go and this time don't fucking come back" They heard Gail yell before slamming the door at the lower area of the apartment when they entered their door at the original penthouse

"Gail?" Tracee asked making her way down the stairs to check on her sister when there was nothing but silence for a minute "What happened? Who was that? Are you ok?" She asked finding Gail sitting on the floor with her head buried between her legs

"I thought you'd spend the night in California" Gail sniffed looking at her sister and wiped her tears

"No we only had dinner with Michael's parents" Tracee mentioned and carefully managed to sit down next to her sister on the floor "Why are you sad? What happened?" She asked wrapping her arm around her little sister

"You know this guy I used to date?" Gail sniffed laying her head on her sisters shoulder

"That Cecil guy?" Tracee asked

"No the idiot who left me at the altar then came back and we started dating again" Gail told her

"Wait, What happened between this morning after I left and now? You guys were inlove when we left to my appointment" Tracee wondered

"The phone rang, it's the army and they want Romeo to come back, they called right after we made plans for our future, kinda like the where are we in five years kinda future plans......anyway he said he would think about it and I said I don't want him to leave me again so we kind of had a fight about it and I kicked him out.....that's what you heard I guess" Gail explained

"He didn't say yes to them, he said he'd think about it" Tracee mentioned

"Well fuck him" Gail sniffed

"You know he loves you, if he didn't he'd told the army yes without thinking about it" Tracee mentioned

"We can't all have perfect husbands like you" Gail scoffed

"Sis we fight too but we always make up because we love each other" Tracee told her

"Yours didn't leave you at the altar to join the army" Gail reminded her

"He did come back for you" Tracee mentioned

"Only to leave me again" Gail shook her head

"You don't even know if he goes back to the army" Tracee told her

"The fact he's thinking about it says enough" Gail glared at her

"Just wait for his answer and remember you love him" Tracee told her

"Yeah I love him that's why he makes me so damn angry at him" Gail sighed

Gail spend the night with Michael and Tracee, catching up some more and having a movie night like old times when they were younger and used to hang out all the time when they had a free night
