As Akshay's gaze shifted away from me, his attention became fully absorbed by his family members. I couldn't help but notice a subtle change.

While memories of our previous encounter were still fresh in my mind, the man before me appeared different,

There was a certain lightness in his presence, as if he had temporarily set aside the burdens and pressures that defined his usual self.

Though he did not smile, a gentle expression graced his face.

I saw him engaging with his loved ones, offering them his undivided attention. His eyes, once filled with intensity that terrified me, now sparkled with warmth and affection.

It intrigued me, for it revealed a multidimensional individual, capable of embracing different sides of his persona in different contexts.

The complexity of his character beckoned me to delve deeper, to unravel the layers that veiled his true self.

As I approached the lavish dinner table, filled with an enticing spread of dishes, the Oberoi family kindly directed me to my seat.

Mrs. Neelam Oberoi, with a warm smile, asked me, "Are you a vegetarian or non-vegetarian?"

"I'm a non-vegetarian." The family nodded and exchanged knowing glances.

They immediately instructed the staff to bring out mouthwatering food options like fish, chicken, biryani, and other delicious dishes.

The table quickly filled with starters and mini dishes covering every inch.

Before diving into the meal.

Mr. Manish Oberoi raised his glass and said, "We're so grateful to have you here, Meera. Please relax and enjoy your dinner."

Their heartfelt words erased any lingering apprehension.

"Thank you, I am glad to enjoy this dinner with you."

I noticed a flicker of discomfort in Akshay's eyes. It was as if my presence at the table stirred something within him, something I didn't quite understand or appreciate.

An unease shrouded him, contrasting with the warmth and acceptance from the rest of the family.

While the family were enjoying the moment, Akshay's gaze occasionally shifted towards me, his eyes betraying uncertainty and guardedness.

It was clear that my presence alongside his family was an unwelcome intrusion, disrupting the walls he carefully constructedd for so long.

Despite the undercurrent of tension, I did my best to remain composed and gracious.

I engaged in light conversation with the other family members, trying to ease the atmosphere.

Yet, every stolen glance from Akshay only deepened my curiosity and intensified my determination to understand the reasons behind his sudden behavior change.

I couldn't shake the feeling of being an outsider in a realm where I didn't quite belong.

Akshay's distant became a puzzle I yearned to solve. With each passing moment, my resolve to unravel his secrets grew stronger.

The youngest members of the family, Vihaan and Kriti, added a touch of innocence and wonder to the atmosphere.

Their presence was infectious, spreading a sense of joy and lightness that allowed me to let go of .y worries and live in the moment.

Having enjoyed the delicious meal filled with joy.

Mrs. Neelam Oberoi approached me,
With a heartfelt embrace.

She held my hand and said with genuine warmth, "My dear, I cannot express how grateful I am that you joined us tonight. You have brought so much joy, and it truly feels like you belong with us. You are always welcome in our home, consider yourself a family member."

She continued...

"My baccha, words cannot express my gratitude for what you did that day. You saved my life, and I will forever grateful to you. Your selflessness and courage are truly remarkable. Thank you for being there when I needed help the most."

As we stood there, embracing each other's presence, Mr. Manish Oberoi, standing beside his wife, joined the conversation. With a gentle smile, he added, "Yes she is right. We cannot express enough how grateful we are to have you here tonight. You truly are a blessing in our lives"

And I couldn't help but feel humbled by their words, known there feelings for me.

Mia approached me, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Can you stay with us tonight?" I have so much to say. I've always wanted a sister, and I feel like I've found one in you,"

Regrettably, I replied, "I'm afraid I have to go back to work." Mia's face momentarily fell, but in an instant, she hugged me tightly, assuring me that we would meet again.

With a playful grin, Mia added, "Oh and, Akshay has this amazing club." We should go there sometime. It's a fantastic place."

As Akshay's name slipped from Mia's lips, a rush of emotions engulfed me. Memories of our earlier encounter flooded back, reminding me of complex feelings buried deep within. In that moment, time stood still, and I couldn't deny his pull on me.

~The mare mention of his name and it makes a great impact on me.

Collecting myself, I responded

"Okay, Mia," I replied with a pause, my voice steady. "We will definitely meet again. I would love to spend more time with you." I deliberately left out the mention of clubbing, aware that Akshay's disapproval lingered in the air.

Throughout our conversation, I could feel Akshay's intense gaze fixed upon us, his presence palpable even in the silence. It was clear that he didn't appreciate the growing bond between Mia and me.

Despite his disapproval, I accepted Mia's friendship offer. As her sister approached me, extending her gratitude and offering acceptance, I couldn't resist the genuine warmth and affection emanating from Oberoi family.

Except from that one person.
