"And even though I know it had to be done and it was the right thing to do, I feel even worse than I did before" I spill, confessing my feelings to Michael

He nods at this, kicking a pine cone away with his feet as we continue to walk.

Michael and I are taking a walk in the neighbourhood, him letting me tell him everything. Of course, leaving out the part about Calum.

I wait for him to respond while he looks down at his feet. When he realizes I'm not continuing he looks back up

"I mean," I continue now that I know he's paying attention "Why does the right feel like the wrong?"

He thinks about this for a second before responding

"Right now, it feels wrong because everyone around you is making it feel that way," He says "But in the future, when everything has settled you will feel and know that what you did is right"

I nod at his words, hoping that he's correct.

We end up in front of Luke's house and we stand there, facing it.

"Do you want to go in?" He asks me

"Why not" I manage to say as I start to walk up the steps.

I hear his footsteps follow behind me as I ring the doorbell.

We wait a little till we hear Luke approaching the door. He opens it a peak and sees that it's us. He gives us a small smile, but looks inside like he's hiding something.

"Hey" I say, giving him a warm smile

"Hey" He says, not returning the smile. I frown at this

"Is there something I did wrong?" I ask

He shakes his head and comes outside, closing the door. He rubs behind his neck, worried.

"Listen," He starts "Now's not a good time"

"Why not?" Michael asks from behind me

Luke sighs in slight frustration

"Ashton's with me and I'm not sure you're what he wants to see right now" He states

"Oh" I manage to say, looking down at my feet

"But later we can hang out, ok?" He says, looking into both of ours eyes for approval

"Yeah sure" I reply as I start to walk away. I'm just walking down the front steps when I hear the front door open again

"Luke, what's taking so long?" I hear in a voice that's definitely not Ashton's.

I spin around to see Ruth standing in the doorway, mouth open at the sight of me.

"Oh, Thia" She says in a defeated voice

"Ruth!" I say, a little too excitedly. Then I realize that she was hanging out with Luke and the situation we're in"What are you doing here?!"

She shakes her head "I was just hanging out with Luke." I raise my eyebrows at this. She rolls her eyes "You know, to get away"

I nod, understanding the wanting to get away part. We stand there in an awkward silence.

"Ok, I guess I'll see you later" I say, taking Michael's hand and starting to walk away

"Wait!" I hear Ruth call out. I turn around and she's running down the steps after me. When she's in front of me she gives me a small smile before facing Michael

"Do you mind giving us some time?" She asks him. Michael nods and walks towards Luke's house. She waits until she hears the door close shut before saying anything

"Thia, I'm so so so sorry"

I nod, "I am too" I think inside my head

"I just," She starts, stuttering "I didn't know what to do. I still had feelings for Ash, but they're not the same as what we used to have. And then Cal came around and I couldn't help myself"

I swallow, only able to nod "It was the right thing to do though." I say. She tilts her head a little, confused "Not cheating on Ashton, breaking up with him"

There's a bit of an awkward silence between us until I say "I'm sorry too"

She furrows her eyebrows "For what?"

"Making you tell Ash" I reply

She rolls her eyes a little "It had to be done eventually. You just helped me, but pushing me a little" I suppress a smile, glad she isn't mad at me "Are we good?" She asks in a small voice

I smile and say "Yes, we're good"

She grins widely at this and embraces me in a hug. I laugh and she laughs too.

When Luke and Michael hear the laughing they immediately open the door.

"You two good?" They ask from across the yard

We both nod at the same time, coming up the stairs to greet them.

They high five and Ruth and I exchange confused glances

"Why are you high fiving?" She asks, voicing both our thoughts

"Our plan worked!" Michael exclaims, giving me and Ruth a tight hug

"What plan?" I ask

"I asked Ruth to come over to talk and Michael made sure you walked by my house where Ruth would be" Luke says

I'm very surprised at this "You guys are incredible liars" I say

They give each other smug looks and Michael says "I know. Those acting lessons we took as kids paid off, didn't they?" He asks Luke

Luke nods, smiling widely as he gives me a kiss on the cheek. Before he pulls away I wrap my arms around him

"Thank you"I whisper into his ear. I feel him give me a small nod on the top of my head

I pull away and let go of Luke's hand giving Ruth another hug

"I missed you so much Ruthy" I say into her ear

She giggles "I missed you too, Thi" She says, emphasizing my nickname.

I pull back and laugh at the use and we all go inside.

Yay! They're friends again! Oh my gosh golly, guys I'm almost done writing this book. I've predicted we're going to have about thirty-five chapters? Lemme tell you, I'm having a hard time choosing an ending. In the begging I knew for sure what I wanted, but know that it's approaching (in my un-published chapters) i'm having seconds thoughts....
