Jury (another eurovision problem)

We all know the winner (Loreen) got an overwhelmingly jury lead. One almost impossible to overtake. Obviously in true Eurovision style the media exploded over this! Here are my thoughts!

The winner only holds the trophy!:
On multiple streaming platforms Kaarija has overtaken Loreen. He will most definatly go down in Eurovision history. So (I am angry however) his loss and her win doesn't effect me that much. I mean Euphoria will always overshadow Tattoo! So Cha cha cha will be remembered more anyway.
What I am angry about is certain song getting a certain placement in the jury votes. The one that annoys me the most being Germany. This is for two reasons. A) I was born there so........ B) Rock is one of my favorite, if not favorite, genre so seeing it last with 3 really stings.

So here are my thoughts on what should happen:
The problem isn't the jury it's the system and the equality of genre's.
The political votes, not following the checklist given to juries, the checklist not covering the right spaces, etc...

Let me brake it down:
Each country gets a jury of a maximum of 5 people. So you would guess to make it fair these would be a very diverse group?? No!
The average age of the jury is 45! Compare that to the average age in the contestants which is 29! There is a huge difference here!
Then look at their experties:
Uknown: 4.4%
Tv and film: 9.3%
Rock: 3.8%
RnB: 1.1%
Classical: 12.6%
Electronic: 1.1%
Ethnic: 4.4%
Jazz: 0.5%
Music producers: 4.9%
Other: 3.3%
Pop: 54.6%

Compare this to the songs this year:
RnB: 5.4%
Rap: 2.7%
Pop: 37.8%
Metal: 5.4%
Alt rock: 2.7%
Electronic: 2.7%
Ethnic: 21.6%
Indie pop: 8.1%
Indie rock: 13.5%

The jury has an obvious lack of representation! This sets many songs behind as the jurers will appeal towards their area of experties more!

This however shouldn't be a big problem however if the jurers followed the criteria given to them. They all get 4 things to consider:
Vocals
Staging/performance
Uniqueness of composition
Overall impression

Not only does it feel like people aren't following it but it aldo feels like these are up for interpretation!
Vocals is either:
Do the vocals appeal to you?
Or how hard is it to do those vocals!

Staging/performance
Staging
Or performance!

Uniqueness of composition
Lyrics
Or music
Or how unique!

Overall impression
My opinion
Or add the above together?

They need to bemore specific!

Anyway I took the time to use this criteria to rank the songs! Here is what I would have given:
12. Norway
10. Moldova
8. Germany
7. Spain
6. Armenia
5. Portugal
4. Estonia
3. Slovenia
2.Finland
1. Czechia

I did this by rewatching the performances and using the criteria as a checklist! I think that is the best way to make sure you follow thus pattern!

In conclusion,
The juries need to be more diverse
The juries have to follow their criteria and explain their reasoning
The criteria has to be more exact!

Hope you enjoyed, what would you do???? Thanks for reading, Kia!
