A forgettable moment in history are the brief moments before the slaughter.
We know the numbers, we know the overwhelming victories,
But we forget those single moments right before the reaping––
Right there. Do you see the fear? The burning hate?
The small, golden bit of resilience right before blade opens skin,
And the life is gone as they fall limp.
