Disturb The Universe

Sever my spinal cord

And watch me face plant

Into the ground

Succumb into the earth

Envelope within darkness

Watch roots dig trenches

Beneath my fingernails

And grow sprouts from my

Waxing moon eyes

Sever the tendons

That loosen my tongue

And extend my wrists

Watch lies turn into knots

Pretty satin bows,

Woven between my arms

Like dancing serpents

Sever my neck

And watch my heart spill

Like gore, and my thoughts

Spill like sunshine rolling off clouds

Watch the air that I breathe

And the stories I weave

Turn into wisps of mumbled mist

Sever my lungs

So that every song is a gasp

And every tale is forgotten

Beneath the sounds of the world

As it moves recklessly through the wild

Sever my soul

Free

Within a disturbance of the universe
