Happiest At Sea

It's like ocean pushing into mammoth walls of bricks,

Seeping through the crevices into threads like alienated blues

Drumming down your spine after every conversation 'till you're sea-sick,

Crashing through muscles to pearly bone and let loose

Water bubbles, popping in your lungs, ocean-salt tears scraped down your cheeks

We are the monsters that perch on your neck

Clawing your arms for mercy that you cannot keep

Attacking at every shuffle of the deck––I am your being

I am what shoves down your breathing,

I'll take away your dreams and

Soon you'll forget and you won't come to me

When you're finally happiest at sea.
