Shooting Static Stars

I think I might crack soon.

Smooth ridges on marred porcelain

It's all too bright and too dark

Since when was the sun so dim,

And the night so bright?

There is too much air in my throat

I choke on it, as if it were not nitrogen and carbon

But thick, sludgy ink that fills my pores

And bleeds from my eyes and ears

Feeding the monster that clings to my shadow

A twelve minute war

That fits the space of eternity

Who knew life was ever this dusky?

A catapulting whirlwind that spins

The world off its axis

And I wish it would erode, implode, explode in the sun

The voices inside are just as loud

They complement and ridicule

I want to stab their sparks into the earth

And hold them close, hoping they might fill the breaks

My wishes forget me

But I never forget them

Dahlias and lavender

Rotting under overturned soil

I've made my grave

And now I stand in the

Grooves of the earth

(wishing)
