and how my mom picked it out?
i remember yours
and how you were named after your papaw.
do you remember my favorite song?
i think i could name your top fifty.
do you remember the feeling of my lips against yours?
i do.
i remember it all
each freckle staining your cheeks
the way your eyes changed color
the way you held your pencil
and how you sat when you ate
i remember the way you drove
one hand on the wheel
the other on my thigh
i remember your laugh
i could recognize it anywhere.
do you remember how it felt to be loved?
i think that's the part i'm starting to forget.
