i don't know this new version of you
the boy who smokes cigarettes
until your lungs can't take it anymore
the boy who drinks away his pain
until the poison takes over his liver
three weeks ago
you wouldn't have been caught dead like this
a shell of a person we both once knew
you never know how much you need someone
until they're gone
until the foundation of your house is crumbling
and all you have left is your open heart
and your bleeding soul
