You have been walking ahead in a dreadful silence but that's the way you like it. The painkillers have finally started to have an effect but it doesn't completely numb out the ache in your belly. After that whole fiasco it was quite surprising you managed to get off without internal bleeding or dying.
Leon walks next to you and tries talking once or twice, to no avail. When you get out the village to a path you get a call from Hunnigan and you let Leon pick it up.
"I've got some information about that lake, look for a large windmill and head towards it."
"Right. That's a great help."
"Report back to me in an hour." She says and cuts off, he looks back at you who's still determined to act like he doesn't exist.
She can barely even walk... His concern only blossoms as he watches you limp, he wants to carry you or do anything to help, to make things better.
"You hear what she said?" He asks aloud, to no response. "She says we're heading to the windmill." There's another silence after that and it's very, very awkward. He sighs and thinks of how he should word his next sentence. "Look I understand you have every reason to hate me but you can't go the entire mission without speaking."
"Is that a challenge, Kennedy?" You say, the question laced with exasperation. "I don't have a reason to talk to you, so I'm not going to talk to you. The more you speak the more you get on my nerves. Maybe you should learn how to shut your mouth, like you should've done before."
"I told you, I'm sorry about what I said before. I was wrong about you. Very wrong. I want to make things right, give me another chance." He knew his effort was going to be another worthless shot; but he had to try.
"You might be sorry but now it's too late, I know what kind of guy you are. And now I'm only going to say this once. Stop. Trying."
He let out a sigh of defeat and decided to just let you be, despite his annoyance at this situation, annoyance at you and annoyance at especially himself. He knew he had no right to be mad at you but it was just such a familiar feeling to wallow in the hatred he had been wrongly feeling for you, it was much more comfortable than the sheer confusion and guilt he felt as he watched you walk ahead heavy with your suffering and resentment.
Luckily, he doesn't have to think about it any longer when you quickly come to a small farm. He quickly walks ahead of you, it's the least he could do to prevent you from fighting anymore and he quickly shoots down the two Ganado you saw, then taking it upon yourself to split off from him to look around.
You saw a blue note when Leon was off doing god knows what.
'Is there anyone who can destroy these blue medallions? The area is polluted by their presence and I can't bear it! There should be about 6, Reward: 5 spinels.' It read.
You had already seen 3 and decide it won't take much effort even if you don't know how you're gonna cash out, you quickly loop back to the barn, and the sheds, finding another along your way and finally having 4 down. You even found a little cage connected to a windmill at the well, which when you shot down, found that it contained a pearl necklace and a sapphire. You admire the pretty jewels for a second...
And then you hear a door breaking with deep roars.
I'm not saving this dickhead again. You think as you approach the house it's coming from, peering inside and watching Leon fight for his life against a man in a bull mask, with a huge hammer that Leon was just about dodging before kicking him down and then getting almost pounded by the hammer again when it gets up. You watch from the window in amusement as more Ganado join in the fight, running around the place and throwing grenades around like Tom and Jerry.
