Fifty Nine ✨

Mini's POV

I was in veronica's ward, she is sleeping right now, operation completed successfully, but doctors are still unsure when will be she get up, they said if she doesn't get up under some hour then her condition will get worst. So we are hoping for best.

Me and Mrs Melville are stealing our glance on her time to time, she is sitting beside her holding her hand, talking to her about something, knowing perfectly that she can't hear her.

I was reading a magazine on the sofa on left of the room. I was thinking about her when her mother shouted panicking. I got up, my mind was filled up with nagative things.

"What."
I ran to her. I looked toward Veronica and saw her...

Her eyes was open. It was not like before, when she woke up weirdly and went back to her sleep after giving her family heart attack. They told me about it.
Her eyes were stable, her breath was stable, she was looking at us with half open eyes like, it was looking like she hardly could keep them open. She gave us a very weak smile. She was calm this time.
The smile was genuine, we already ringed the bell to call the doctor he must be in his way.

"Veronica! "
Her mom screamed on her face.

"Mom"
She said slowly, it was enough for the women in front of me to pass out. But i helped her to stay fine.
Her mom was so happy and continuesly kissing her on every possible place.

"Promise me you will never ever do such things again!"
She said with pool of tears in her eyes, it was straight falling on Veronica but no one cared about it.

Veronica knows it was not her mistake, she didn't purposely got involved in that incident but still she answered her.

"I won't."
Her every answer came out in lowest voice and only gave short answer.
Not because she didn't wanted to answer, it was because it was so hard for her to keept her eyes open, she just woke up and she was already tired, she has no power to speak right now.

"Mini"
She whispered with weak smile i walked to her and holded her hand.

"You. . . Came . . . back?"

She was powerless but she completed the sentence while taking long pauses in between. I think she even slept during one pause.

I hugged her while she was laying down.
Doctor arrived. Lionel didn't come, it was other doctor, he asked her some simple question about how's she feeling right now. And she answered with pauses.
He told us to let her rest because she is so much weak, it is hard for her to even keep her eye open.
The she asked to go to Washroom, doctor asked us if we need nurse when suddenly her mom took responsibility and they made their way to washroom. She was so weak. Very much, it has been 2 months since she is laying on this bed, only surviving on glucose bottles.

Meanwhile they were in there i sat back and thanked God for this, i suddenly heard door opening voice, i saw Elvin. His eyes were closed.
Ooh he was scared. So i decided to make a small prank. Because he has also hurted her, he deserves one.

One prank will not hurt.

So i made sad face before he could open his eyes.
He walked to me and asked about Veronica, i answered in short sentence.

"She left..."
come on It was not lie actually, she seriously left to bathroom.
He asked me some more questions i couldn't control and just looked down, i was laughing so hard, i know it is evil but his face was so scared.

But he was really scared am i felt bad, so i stopped laughing. I thought to stop this prank.

Then he saw Veronica coming out of the bathroom, i thought he will finally know that i was lying but,

he thought he was hallucinating.

He was so broke, i didn't know he will trust me this much.
I tried to tell him but he was just not litsening to anyone.
He was so sure that it is veronica's ghosts infront of him until he touched her.
He looked like he lost the most important war of his life. Even after being this weak Veronica was standing there, she was crying too.
And then after some more emotional situation, he knew

what i did.

Flashback ended~

"Mini!"
He yelled and she stopped.

"Why did you do that!"

"i was just doing a prank and wanted to take revenge on you for my friend."
She said and ran, out of the room

"Forget that. . . .Elvin."
Veronica said in her weak voice.
He nodded, he is ready to do whatever she want. She closed her eyes tiredly
Suddenly door opened, revealing Scott and Axel.

They slowly walked toward Veronica who's eyes were closed, he touched her cheek, Axel followed him Robinson also walked in the room. They thought she still didn't woke up.

"How is she?"
He asked to his wife and Elvin. But they were looking so happy they couldn't stop smiling.

"What?"
He asked again looking at their faces confused, his hand was still on Veronica's face.
His eyes slowly moved back to Veronica, her eyes were open. She was smiling as much as she could.

His heart skipped a beat. She looked exactly like that small 2 year old baby, when she looked at him first time with big genuine smile.

"Axel? Am i d-dreaming."
Scott asked looking straight in veronica's eyes.

Axel heart was jumping in excitement. He couldn't hold back, he held her hand slowly.

"Y-you woke up?"
Axel asked in breaking voice
She nodded slowly

Axel and Scott looked at each other in shock.
