As I watched the sun cast its warm glow on the hospital room window, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and relief. Finally, after three long days, Becky was being discharged from the hospital. Her recovery had been slow but steady, and I wanted to celebrate this milestone in a special way. With a plan in mind, I quickly prepared a surprise picnic under the shade of the majestic oak tree in our backyard.

I helped Becky walk towards the tree and removed the blindfold covering her eyes, and her face lit up with surprise.

"You really went all out, Freen," she said, her voice filled with genuine warmth.

I grinned, my heart soaring at her reaction. "Of course! You deserve to be spoiled a little after everything you've been through. And having a picnic under this beautiful oak tree felt like the perfect way to celebrate your recovery."

Becky's eyes shimmered with gratitude as she took in the spread I had laid out on the checkered blanket. "You always know how to make things special, Freen. Thank you."

As we settled down on the blanket, the fragrant scent of freshly cut grass filled the air, and a gentle breeze rustled the leaves above us. I couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and contentment. It was the perfect setting for a heartfelt conversation.

As the afternoon went on and we indulged in the delicious treats I had brought, I decided to bring up a different topic.

"So, Becky, I read this amazing love story about two boys the other day. It got me thinking about how love knows no boundaries, no restrictions. What do you think about that?"

I was referring to the book we had both read, albeit in different places.

Becky's eyes widened with intrigue. "I totally agree. Love should never be confined or judged based on societal norms. It's perfectly okay to fall in love with someone of the same sex. There's nothing wrong with that."

I already knew her answer, but she didn't know that I was already aware. She wasn't there when Richie told me everything. I grinned mischievously, unable to resist teasing her a little.

"Hmm, Becky, do you have a lucky girl in mind?"

She playfully nudged me with her elbow, laughter dancing in her eyes. "Always trying to pry into my love life, huh? First, my ex-boyfriend, and now this girl. Well, maybe I do have someone in mind, but that's a secret for now."

And there I was, hoping that I was that secret girl she was talking about. Those three days in the hospital hadn't been easy for me, as I wasn't fond of hospitals and they made me feel nauseous. But with Becky, I felt okay.

"Who's the lucky girl?" I asked, unable to contain my curiosity.

I want to know what she did to catch your attention.

Before our conversation could delve deeper into her potential love interest, a familiar figure emerged from the distance. It was Billy, with his usual carefree demeanor. He wrapped his arms around my shoulder and greeted me warmly.

"Hey, Freen! How's it going?" Billy asked, his cheerful tone effectively shifting the topic of conversation.

I turned to Becky, giving her a knowing smile. "Saved by Billy," I said with a playful wink. "We were just having a little chat about love and its many facets."

Becky laughed, her eyes glinting mischievously. "Yes, we were just scratching the surface of some interesting conversations. But for now, let's enjoy the company of our dear friend and soak in the sunshine." Becky lay down on the checkered carpet and used her arms as a makeshift pillow, clearly thankful that her arms had healed.

Billy, always quick on his feet, chimed in with a mischievous grin. "Ah, love conversations, huh? Speaking of which, Freen, don't think I haven't noticed the way you've been eyeing someone lately. Care to spill the beans? You mentioned it during our last date at the museum."

I felt my face flush with a mixture of surprise and embarrassment. Somehow, Billy had caught wind of my own crush. I glanced at Becky.

Becky, clearly enjoying the teasing moment, joined in. "Oh, Billy, you're relentless! Freen here has been trying to keep it a secret, but I think we can coax it out of them. So, Freen, spill the tea! Who's got your heart all aflutter?"

I chuckled nervously, feeling the weight of their expectant gazes. "Alright, alright, you got me. There is someone I've been interested in, but I'm still figuring things out. It's early days, so let's just keep it between us for now, okay?"

No, this isn't the right moment to tell her, especially with Billy here.

Billy and Becky exchanged knowing glances, a playful twinkle in their eyes. "Oh, don't worry, Freen. Your secret is safe with us. But we'll definitely be here to offer advice, support, and plenty of teasing along the way," Billy said, a grin plastered across his face.

"I'll tell you when the right time comes."
