Out of touch [REMASTERED]

Misunderstandings

They should talk, they really should, but something is always coming their ways, and Gene not being very vocal this makes it 10 times harder for Alex. They are going through that part of every relationship, a misunderstanding, they should talk, they need to, they both know they need to talk, but Gene being too stubborn, Alex being too pushy plus this new force of evil that just keeps them from talking, and it drives them more far apart, that scares Alex, deep down it scares Gene too.
Right now Gene was at his computer

"This is getting out of hand, shadows attacking everyday making their way slowly towards the Enchanted Island and Kingsland"

Gene said observing the shadow's spreading across his screen.
Alex got up to take a look at the screen himself, he was close to Gene but none of them made eye contact,nor said a word to the other

"We need a way to protect from these shadows, at least until we can find a way to defeat them, at least slow them down a bit"

Alex said and Gene nodded slightly agreeing.
The girls could feel the tension between the two. For Twinkle it's uncomfortable for Ruby is suffocating. Ruby made a small signal to Alex to come follow her, which he caught on fast and excused himself.
Ruby pulled him outside the Chameleon and looked him dead in the eyes

"You two need to talk."

"I know for fuck sake, I know! It's just everytime i try to talk to him something ALWAYS comes up, it's starting to get tiring and im starting to lose hope" Alex said crossing his arms and looking away from the young pirate

"Don't you ever dare to give up on him! Look matey im not good at this romance stuff but you two really work great together, and honestly we got used to you two being lovey dovey"

Ruby paused as she relaxed her posture and spoke into a softer voice

"And he finally started to heal... after everything with dad and..his mom..you we're exactly what he needed...and I don't want him to get that bad again..."

Alex knew that whenever Ruby would spoke into a softer voice it meant she cared, if you pointed out she'd deny and tell a lame excuse. Alex sighed and opened his mouth but before he could say anything Twinkle came up to them

"Gene said it's time to leave, we're heading to Kingsland!" She said

The two nodded and followed her inside the Chameleon and they ser course to Kingsland. While the girls we're busy talking about God knows what, Alex turned his attention to Gene, trying to start a conversation

"So..."

Gene replied with a small hum, as he couldn't take his eyes off the road

"We should...talk... about our... situation at hand..."

Gene gave a frown in return, they had bigger issues than their relationships, people are getting hurt

"Alex-"

"I know what you're gonna say! Of course I'll wait until this whole fiasco is done!"

Gene nodded slightly seeing the Prince reading his mind so well, that's something he liked about Alex, how easy it was for Alex to read him so easy. They will talk, after everything is over! Yes everything will be fine
They soon reached Kingsland, they got out of the Chameleon and made their way towards the throne room where King Kendrick was waiting for them.
"How's the situation going?" He asked worried for the answer he's going to receive

"They..move fast..they are almost reaching Enchanted Island" Gene said

Kendrick let out a sigh as he looked down, rubbing his forehead in distress, how are they going to stop these shadows?
