Out of touch [REMASTERED]

Bad day

The sun finally rose over Kingsland, The Fairy Queen feeling better a bit, she thanked The King for his hospitality. Alex abd Leonora stayed there with the fairies in case something happens, the girls and Gene we're in the Chameleon, Gene was working on fixing some engine that failed during one of their expeditions, the thing today is that nothing goes according to plan for Gene, everything he did today was a mess, he tried to concentrate and be calm and rational but since he kept on messing up he got more flustered and more inpatient. As he was working somehow he messed one of the circuits and made the Chameleon shut down instantly. The girls looked at Gene who gave a defeated sigh and was about to burst into an rampage...or into tears...or both

"Gene? Everything alright?" Twinkle asked

"Yes Twinkle everything is just peachy"

he said as he banged his head on the control panel, he composed himself and tried to turn on the Chameleon. He succeed at one point.

"That's it i give up" Gene said as he got up and left the Chameleon leaving two confused girls behind

"Is Gene ok?" Twinkle asked

"I think this whole shadow thing,and his misunderstanding with Alex..it really gets to him"  Ruby said

"Let's give him some space" Twinkle suggested and Ruby agreed
Back to Gene who now is in the Medical room with Leonora, Alex had to go look for something and he said he'll be back

"Now what's wrong with you? You look worse than you usually do" Leonora said

"You know you can say i look like shit right?" Gene said

Leonora let a small laugh

"But now seriously,i couldn't help but notice some tension between you and my brother, you two aren't breaking up are you?"

"No..i mean... I don't know...we really need to talk we just... don't find the time...and there are... worse things that this..."

"If you two break up i don't believe in love"

"Leonora seriously?"

"Im just saying.."

"Uggh..." Gene covered his face, he felt tired, scared and he just wanted to talk with Alex about what's happening between them but he just can't, something always comes in between them and it drifts them apart more. He left the Medical room and went in the library, he didn't like reading books, but he could hide well in the library,plus no one comes around here. He went into the darker part of the library, dropped to the ground and just,let himself sink in his thoughts. He sunk so deep at one point he didn't heard anything, he was fixated on one book on the shelf, he was distancing himself from reality. He thought he was there so 10 minutes at least, but seems like he was there for 2 hours before Alex finally found him

"Gene! God are you ok? I've been looking for you everywhere"

Alex's voice made him come back to reality, he adjusted his vision a bit before looking at the prince

"Y-yeah I'm fine.."

"Are you sure?..."

Gene couldn't say more but nodded, Alex sat next to him and pulled him close

"What's on your mind?"

"I just... everything i do fails today...i can't go anything right and...this whole thing between us...these shadows..."

"It messes you up doesn't it?"

"Yes... sometimes i think you... deserve someone better..."

"What?..." Alex was now facing Gene
