A/n: Emma isn't with Greg nor does she have kids for the purpose of this story.
Y/n's POV
Sitting on the Graham Norton sofa between mum and Emma Thompson I find myself feeling a weird sense of guilt on top of the natural awkwardness that comes with the whole situation. What situation is that you ask? Well, I'm Y/n Branagh. The love child of Helena Bonham Carter and Kenneth Brannagh and the result of their affair and brief relationship. So yeah, it's definitely awkward. Actually it's beyond awkward but it's better me being between them than them sitting together.
"Y/n, am I right in thinking that this documentary was your idea?" Graham asks and I'm brought back to the reason that I'm even here.
"I guess it was even if I was originally joking about it." I say with a nod and he looks at me with a raised eyebrow making me chuckle. "I was approached by a lovely man who asked if I wanted to write a book about what it's like trying to be a 'normal' person when both of my parents and my stepdad are rather well known. We spent a long time talking and I jokingly said that it would be easier if we sat down and filmed everything because there's more that could be talked about, he jumped on the idea and here we are now." I explain and he nods in understanding.
"Is there anything in the documentary that you wish wasn't or vice versa?" He asks and me and mum share a look before she nods.
"I... first of all I had a lot of fun filming it but there's one part of it that, I don't wish we hadn't put in because it's how you feel y/n but I wish that I had known how you felt about it before we filmed it." Mum says and I look at her for a second before realising what bit she's talking about and take her hand with a soft squeeze. "Is there anything I wish we put in it? There's a few stories that thinking back on it now we could have put in about your childhood but other than that no."
"I don't regret putting anything in the documentary but I do wish that I had talked to you about some of the things I talk about before we were on camera. There are a few really emotional and for me personally some really mentally draining moments where I... I not only relive certain things but I also make a few realisations about things, people and situations that I had never really thought about before." I say after clearing my throat slightly and feel Emma's hand rest on my leg lightly making me look at her with a soft smile that she returns.
"We had to take a lot of breaks while we were filming because there were some days where I honestly thought that if we didn't you were going to completely crack." Mum says with a sad smile and I nod while clearing my throat making Emma look at me worriedly as she takes my hand. "Especially when we were talking about the whole family dynamics situation. You honestly looked like you were about to pass out when talking about certain things."
"I think we have a video of one of the more... serious conversations you two had." Graham says and I shift slightly when a video appears on the screen behind him, recognising the clip instantly.
Sitting on the sofa with mum I smile when she passes me a cup of tea and sip from it while leaning back on the arm of the sofa. Looking over at the production crew I raise an eyebrow when I realise that they're whispering about something and carefully put my cup down while clearing my throat. "Is everything okay?" I ask and they look over at me with mixed expressions making me chuckle. "Whatever it is you guys are arguing about why don't you run it past us and we can work something out."
"As you know we asked the public to send us some questions to ask you both and there's one recurring one. We just don't think that while it's something people are interested about it's something that you'll be comfortable talking about." The producer says and I raise an eyebrow at him.
"This whole documentary is about being uncomfortable and opening about things. What's the question?" I ask and they hesitate slightly.
"How do you feel about the fact that you're the result of an affair?" He asks and I look at him shocked for a second. "You don't need to answer that though. Like I said we don't want you being uncomfortable."
