CARMELO'S POV
Wow, nothing beats HOME.
I got a message from Trish when I was on lay over that she can't pick me up sa airport dahil masama ang pakiramdam. Knowing her mukhang sinagad niya na naman ang sarili. Pinagbilinan ko na to take it easy habang nasa bakasyon. Pero hindi instead na magpahinga nagpupuyat pa to attend to work calls and emails.
I was taken aback when someone hug me from behind. Napangiti ako.
"Any guess?"
"Hmm. It is really hard to guess." Nanatili akong nakatalikod habang sinasakyan ang trip ng anak ko.
"Clue. Someone you missed!"
"Wow Love your hands became so tiny." Pangaasar ko.
"Hmp! I am not Mommy. I'm Carys!"
Sa tono niyang may pagtatampo ay di ko maikakaila na anak nga ni Tricia 'to. She is like acting like her Mom.
Bago pa man siyang tuluyang magtampo ay hinarap ko siya. Bumaba ako sa lebel niya para mayakap siya.
"Of course, baby I know it is you. I'm just joking. I miss you!"
"I miss you too Daddy. I'm glad you are here now."
"Mee too, princess. So let's go and see Mommy?"
"Can we get something for Mommy on the way home? She's been painfully annoying these past few days. I told her not to over work as you said but she's just so hard headed."
"You hear her, your wife is painfully annoying."
"Ate!" Isang mahigpit na yakap.
"Welcome home!"
This is really home. This must have been the feeling Trish told me. It is really is unexplainable. Since I was only child, napalapit na rin talaga ako sa mga kapatid ni Trish. And this is something I've been longing for, to finally left behind what had happen in the past.
"Finally, kumpleto na ang kasal namin. Welcome home, bud!"
Mula sa pagkakayakap kay Ate Aika ay nilapitan ko si Gab.
"Anything for you and Ate Aiks."
"I'm sure hindi na makapaghintay si Tricia sa bahay. Halika na bago pa ako tadtarin ng tawag ng asawa mo." Yaya ni Ate Aiks.
TRICIA'S POV
"Actually ate, I have something I want to tell you." Tugon ko.
"Just tell me, I'm all ears."
I showed her a photo of the sonogram na natanggap ko right before we boarded the airplane.
"Sabi ng Doctor, mahihirapan. Hindi naman niya sinabing hindi na. We've been trying, ate. Hanggang sa nawalan na kami ng pag-asa na baka nga wala na. Baka nga hindi na."
"But this? This is yours, right? Not someone elses sonogram?"
I nodded and she gave me a hug.
