I came across this function by accident and I really enjoyed it.
This is the function of creating a Project in Google Earth. For example, take your story as a project.
This is how I marked the world of Harry Potter on my world map - on the real map I put in where the Ministry of Magic was located, the Wizarding Congress in the USA, where Hogwarts was located (at least where I liked it).
You can insert a place designation with various icons (Church, Hospital, etc.). You can work with different boundaries, and create plots.
I especially like that you can work with 3D terrain and have an idea of height differences in mountains etc.
One of my stories required a lot of travel, so I kept track of where the person lives, and what they have on their property (because of the distance and how much time it takes).
What I also liked is the ability to add your own photos. Do you want Hogwarts to stand on the site of Prague Castle in your project? Not a problem!
