Smile #6

All he had was joy

As I gave him his new toy

I laughed as he ran around the room

Then it finally ended when he ran into a broom

He broke down from laughter

As I climbed down from the rafter

He said that was funny

With his nose so runny

He was really sick

Maybe some medicine will do the trick

His mother is hardly ever here

But he will learn to persevere

I wish I could erase what I did

Now I am stuck with this kid

I work hard every day

I struggle to bring in a pay

As hard as I try

The money always starts to run dry

Every day all he does is smile

This is all worth my while

Everyday I see his smiling face

My heart starts to race

Sometimes I wish this was over

I said as I was picking up a clover

Why did I have to fall for this trend

I said to my little true and faithful friend

Everyday I keep going

With the love flowing

Everyday I see his smiling face

I know I am in the right place
