Temptation #67

It tugged at you heart

Turned you cold

From the start

But now it turned you old

You lie there dying

As I hold you hand

Steadily crying

Moving my hand through the sand

Hoping it will relieve

This stress

Hoping you will believe

What I press

Against your heart

You lie there in pain

From the start

You thought I was insane

But I write

Because of you

The whole time I was right

And true

As you pass away

Knowing that you were lost

Hard to live another day

As you were tossed

Into the lake

Of fire

Were you are to bake

Down to the wire

Insects crawl on your skin

Flames singe your hairs

You were wrong again

Nobody's cares

About what you accomplished

In this life

Now you are banished

From eternal sleep to eternal strife

What happened on Earth

Now you burn

Ever since your birth

I guess you will never learn

That this temptation

Has caused you to lose your way

Across the nation

You won't live to see the light of another day
