"This one!" Ezra pointed at a light blue Beta Fish, with little red and white dots along its side. "Ezra, you have said that about the last ten fish we've looked at, please just pick one" I sighed, leaning down to rest my head on top of my arms, which were crossed on over the handle bar of the PetSmart shopping cart.

I knew bringing Ezra out to shop for a fish while he was little wouldn't be a good idea, so I wanted until he was big.

Him being big isn't any better though.

"Trey, they're all so pretty!" He whined. "I can't pick just one" I knew exactly what he was doing once he said that. "Ezra Weasley, you are getting one fish or none at all" I said sternly, lifting my head up so he would know that I was serious about what I was telling him. "Please" The softness in his voice almost had me wanting to give in.

Almost.

"Ezzy, please, just pick a fish so we can go home. I'm tired" We had already been out of the house for hours, shopping for summer clothes for Ezra since it was getting warmer out, and he had somehow managed to convince me to come here and get the stuff for his fish. We had a large tank and all the essentials in the cart already, so once he was finished picking which one he wanted, all we had to do was go home.

Once we get there, I am certainly taking a nap.

"Can I please have two?" He pleaded, giving me those big, brown, puppy dog eyes, knowing they would most likely make me give in. He continued to stare at me for a while, his face tugging at my heart strings.

I eventually threw my head back, groaning at what I was about to say.

"Fine Ezra, you can have two" A huge grin appeared on his face, as he began bouncing up and down. "Yay! Thank you!" He ran over, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I couldn't help but smile as I moved to embrace him. "You're welcome, lovebug" I mumbled into his hair, as I kissed the top of his head gently.

Ezra ran back over to the display of fish, grabbing two cups, before carefully carrying them over to the cart.

"You took.. All that time to pick one fish... But immediately went for those two?"

"I already knew what I wanted, I just needed you to say yes" He smiled sweetly, batting his eyelashes at me. I couldn't help but smile as well, knowing I should've seen through his plan.

"You're gonna be the death of me Ezzy" I shook my head at him, beginning to push the cart towards the registers to pay for our things. "At least you'll die happy" He skipped beside me.

I playfully rolled my eyes at his response, all while knowing what he had said was one hundred precent true.

"Do you have names picked out for them?" The lady working at the register asked Ezra, trying to make conversation, as she rung our things up. "Hmm, not yet" Ezra told her, putting his cute little thinking face on. I just stood there, admiring him, until he noticed me staring. But, even then, I never took my eyes off of him.

"W-What's wrong?" He questioned, visibly shrinking under my gaze. I noticed he looked uncomfortable after that, so I looked away. "Nothing.." I started. "I'm not allowed to look at my baby now?" I hesitated slightly before saying that last part, not knowing how he would react to me calling him that given the fact that he isn't little right now.

All he did in return was turn away, clearly trying to hide a smile, and mumble a quiet 'shut up' in my direction. The lady finished ringing up our items, offering a warm smile as she told me the total. I returned the smile, swiping my card, before putting the things back in the cart, bidding her a fair well, and leading Ezzy out the store.

"Can they go in my room?" Ezra asked, once we were in the car on ur way back to the house. "Do you promise to take care of them if I say yes?" I knew this was something that would be easy for him, but it would be a big responsibility while he's little, and I would hate for something to happen to the fish, given how much he already adores the two of them.

"Yes, Tee-Tee, I promise" He responded, his voice beginning to sound childlike, meaning he was starting to slip into his little space. "Good boy," I praised, seeing the way he did a little happy dance beside me, from out the corner of my eye. "Yes, they can go in your room, Bug" I heard him whisper a quiet 'yay' as he held up the cups containing his fish in front of his face.

"Dada name Ezzy's fishies?"

I couldn't help but smile at the fact that he had officially slipped into little space. "Yes, dada will help Ezzy name his fishies" Ezra then held the cups closer to his face, whispering to the fish. "Hear dat fishies? Dada gonna name you" I shook my head fondly at his antics, eventually zoning out a bit, thinking of what names to suggest for his new pets.

Before I knew it, we were pulling into the driveway. Once we came to a full stop, and I turned the car off, Ezra very carefully climbed out, with his fishes in his hands, and bounced up to the front door. I shook my head at his excitement, following him to the door to unlock it for him. "Go sit them on the dining room table, okay?"

"Okay!" He said enthusiastically, before running off towards the dining room. I made my way back to the car, grabbing some of the bags and setting them inside the tank, before carrying it into the house, deciding I would get the rest later since it was only some decorations.  I put the items up in Ezra's room, before going back down to the dining room, where Ezra was quietly staring at his fish as they swam around in their little cups.

"Are they boys or girls?" I asked, sitting get to him. He shrugged, tilting his head at them. "How about, you name them after your fairies?" I suggested causing Ezra to frantically nod his head. "Terrence!" He pointed at the blue one with whiteish looking speckles on its fins. "Hmm, dada name dis one" He pushed the reddish-purple fish in my direction.

"Isn't your favorite fairy named Fawn? Name this one after her" Ezra nodded in agreement at my words. "Dada's fishy" He pointed at the one I had just named fawn, causing me to smile. "This is my fishy now?" He hummed, nodding a little bit, before yawning.

"Ezzy sleepy dada" He told me, moving to climb into my lap. He wrapped his arms around me, laying his head on my shoulder. "How about, we go take a nap in the living room?"

"Dada nap wif me?" He mumbled sleepily. "Yes, Bug. Dada is gonna nap with you" I assured him as I began standing up from the table. "But, da fishies dada" I couldn't help but smile at the way he was so worried about his new fish. "They'll be okay, don't worry" I whispered, knowing he was most likely slipping in and out of sleep.

Soon enough, I found myself laid on the couch, Ezra by my side, having one of the best naps I've had in a very long time.
