Chapter 65- In Treatment

So I googled where Riverdale is meant to be set, and it said rock pan county so I did more googling and it's only like 2 hours away from new haven where Yale is. This may all be wrong but we're just going to go with it 🤣

Another round of tapes have been left at each of our doorsteps. Once again it played hours of our home however this time the camera was much closer than last. Collage and University's have also just started sending out envelopes
"Mrs Burble do you have a minute?" I ask walking into the guidance counsellors office. Mr honey thought with the approach of collage coming up and stress of exams, it might be good for me to see her
"Miss Andrews. Come on in how can I help you?"
"I got an offer for Yale to study law, as long as my grades don't slip and I do well in exams"
"Like your mom"
"Yes, but that means moving to Connecticut away from here"
"Away from you boyfriend?"
"Away from dad. I know he's passed away, but he's here. I'm just worried I won't feel close to him. And yes there's Sweet Pea, we've just got back together and now I have to tell him that I'm going to move after this year"
"Long distance relationships can work and Yale is only about 2 hours away from here, but remember you are young both of you are so please don't worry about going away for a boy, but you do need to tell him. No good keeping it in. Now regards to your dad, he would be so proud of you. He will be with you always" there's another knock on the door, Betty opens it up
"Oh sorry I can come back later"
"No it's ok. Thank you Mrs Burble"
"Miss Cooper what can I do for you?" she asks as I close the door behind me. I walk to my locker to get ready for my first lesson of the day.

"Mom why can't you just buy the pre chopped onion" I complain as my eyes sting
"Because it's cheeper not to and that's just laziness" mom chuckles
"No it's protecting my eyes"
"Mom can we talk?" Archie asks walking into the kitchen
"Oh boy what's wrong?"
"You want me to leave?" I ask Archie who shakes his head
"No. Rory your fine. I don't wanna give up my work at the community centre"
"Yeah, I know. I've made my peace with that"
"But I can't keep putting you and Rory in danger. And Dodger and his family are still out there And sooner or later, they'll come after me, me, so...."
"And if they do you will have 2 of the greatest layers to back you up" I smile at Archie
"You got in at Yale?"
"Yes, but only if I do well in exams"
"That's fantastic news" Archie gives me the biggest hug "but that doesn't change the fact I'm moving out" Mom drops her knife on the kitchen counter top
"Archie no"
"Mom you don't have a choice. I'm 18, I'm an adult" (author here. Wait you guys in America stay in high school till your 18? Is that actually a thing? In the uk we leave high school when we're 16 then have to stay in education till we are 18 but that could be sixth form, collage apprenticeships) "I'm gonna move into the center, just for a while, until Sheriff Jones catches Dodger and things cool off for a bit"
"Archie, you don't have to do that"
"Yes, I do. Their war is with me, not with you or Rory" moms eyes start to water. Archie walks over to her and hugs her "It's okay. I'll be okay"

Sweet Pea and I are sat at Pops for a date, I know I need to tell him about me moving away for collage, but Im so scared it will cause an argument and maybe even another breakup
"What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" Pea asks snapping me out out of my thoughts
"Erm... promise me that you won't run out of here and leave me if I tell you?"
"Promise. I just got you back and I'm not letting you go"
"Ok well... I have an offer at Yale"
"Oh wow, that's huge. Why were you worried about telling me?"
"Yale isn't here and you...."
"I didn't get into collage and that's fine. Rory Yale is like 2 hours away, so we will still see each other. Also Archie asked me to work for your dads business, I agreed so I'm going to keep Andrews construction going" this makes me smile. Things are going to be ok, I believe that.
