Chapter 70- The Ides Of March

Monday
It was a normal start to the week. My alarm went off at 6:30. Had a shower, got ready, had breakfast and headed off to school where I'm sat with Sweet Pea in the student lounge with Toni and Cheryl
"How are we graduating in a few months" I sigh
"Don't even remind me of that" Pea pulls me closer to him and places a kiss on my head
"During the summer we need to go away. All of us. For one last hurrah" I say to everyone
"I like that idea" Toni smiles
"Weirdly I'm gonna miss this place" I say looking around.

Tuesday
"Im going to be late!" I yell running down the stairs. Archie is just about to leave
"Ronnie will wait for you"
"But the time won't. I promised Pea I'd be ready and I'm not"
"Ok what do need?"
"My shoes. The black ones with the heal" Archie goes into the cupboard to look for them while I grab my purse "thank you" I say slipping on the shoes and heading out with Archie.
I meet Sweet Pea at La Bonne Nuit and end up dancing the night away.

Wednesday
I'm so tired, way to tired to be here at school and now I'm pissed off because Archie wants to sell the business
"I just can't believe he didn't consult me on this"
"But you don't have much to do with
Andrews construction" Kevin says and I glare at him. He holds his hands up in the air
"Not the point. My grandad founded the businesses, dad took it over and Archie was always meant to take over. I just feel like I'm going to loose another part of dad"
"Rory if I could give you the money I would" Betty says
"Wait" I gasp "what if I take over from Archie. That way it stays in the family and Im good with numbers because of Pops so I'll know how to do the books"
"But babe, you don't know anything about construction" Sweet Pea bursts my bubble
"Yeah and your going to uni soon. Who's going to be in charge then?"
"Well I didn't get that far did I?" I sigh replying to Fangs
"It was a nice idea" Toni gives me a small smile.

Thursday
"That test was brutal" Kevin sighs stretching on one of the chairs in the student lounge Why does anybody need to know what primogeniture?"
"Wait, that was one of the questions?" Veronica asks laying over Archie. Pea and I are curled up on a chair together, me sat on his lap
"Miss Lodge" Mr Honey walks in with a flask in his hand "During a routine search. I found
this flask of rum in your locker"
"Excuse me. When did Riverdale High become a fascist police state, Principal Mussolini?"
"We're leaving in a few months. So are you. So why don't we just all get on with our days and ignore one another's antics?" I suggest
"It is my responsibility to look after my students' well-being.  How do you think Barnard will react
when they hear about this incident?"
"The recruiter already saw me drinking at my speakeasy" Veronica replies "they're not a bunch of prissy, power-tripping asshats..." she stands up getting annoyed
"Veronica stop" Archie says trying to pull her back "Stop.  You don't have to do this. You don't have to protect me" Archie says and my eyes widen "Principal Honey, I'm so sorry. The lock on my locker broke, and I know Veronica's combination... so I stashed that flask, my flask,
in there before the test"
"So, this is your liquor, Mr. Andrews?"
"It's been a rough year, sir, as you know. Sometimes I need to take the edge off."
"You'll have a week's detention. And I'm gonna call your mother about this"
"I understand sir" with that Mr Honey leaves the room. 

Friday
He didn't do it! Archie didn't sell the company!
"Thank you Arch. I really didn't want to loose another part of dad" I run over to my brother and tackle him in a hug
"So you don't mind Mr Keller being foreman?"
"Not one bit. Now are you sure about us going to this party in the woods?"
"Betty said it was important"
"Fine" I groan "I'll get ready"
"Oh and Betty said to wear your serpent jacket" my eyes light up. Maybe the serpents aren't gone. I rush up stairs, get ready in record time, just in time for Pea to arrive.

"Oh god it's. It's like A Midsummer Night's Dream had a baby with Euphoria" Veronica chuckles
"I gotta hand it to these jerks, they know how to throw a party" Pea says sipping out of a red solo cup
"You guys see Jughead? I said we'd meet up with him once we got here" we all look around but can't see him anywhere "I'm gonna do a lap, okay? See if I can find him"
"Ok" we all say as Betty walks off
"I need another drink" Pea says dragging me off.

"Guys Betty and jughead are in the woods. Come on" Veronica walks over to Pea and I
"Errm no thanks. I'd rather not see them having it on" I laugh before finishing off my drink
"Rory. Let's go"
"Fine" I roll my eyes, put my cup down and follow Archie and Betty into the wood. That's when we see Betty standing over a body with a rock
"Oh, my God! Betty, what happened?" Veronica shouts
"Oh my god is that Jughead?" Sweet Pea gasps
"Is he breathing?" Archie runs over to Jughead and checks his pulse "there's no pulse"
"I can't do this..." i turn away from the group trying to collect myself
"What did you do Betty?" Archie asks.
