Jai'erre walked slowly along the campus sidewalk, with no where to really go to. The drugs in his pocket bounced up and down with no noise to them.
He pulled out his phone going to the contact name 'Monte'. The phone rung for a couple of seconds before La'monte picked up.
"Wasgood, I'm waiting on you." La'monte says. Jai'erre picked up his pace, still not knowing where he was heading to. "Nigga, where you at? I told you I got places to be after this." Jai'erre says back to him.
"I been waiting for you at this library for 10 minutes now. I told you to meet me here earlier." La'monte says.
"Aight, I'll be there." Jai'erre hung up the phone, heading towards the library. He hopped up the steps, almost tripping on one. "Oh shit." He whispered to his self, before finally making it to the doors of the library.
He walked inside the quiet building. The librarian looked at him with a foul face, looking back down at her book. He sighed before heading to the back of the library.
La'monte sat at one of the tables looking out the window. "Aye, I'm here." He sits down in front of La'monte. "You got the money?"
La'monte pulls a roll of money from his pocket, handing it to Jai'erre under the table. Jai'erre counted the money, before handing La'monte the bag of pills.
"You know you wouldn't need to pay if you would just let me introduce you to my job Monte." Jai'erre says. La'monte shrugs, popping one of the pills into his mouth. "I'll think about it, it ain't like I'm running' out of money anyway."
Jai'erre sighed. "Look bruh, it's easy money. I'm just tryna put you on." La'monte stared at Jai'erre for a little before smiling. "I saw yo ass trip on them stairs."
"Nigga you weird as hell for watching me anyways." Jai'erre laughs with him, holding out his hand. "Gimmie one of them." He gestures towards the bag.
La'monte shakes his head. "Nah, these mine and I already paid." Jai'erre pulls out the money. "Well, you missing a few dollars." He holds out his hand again, before La'monte hands him one of the pills.
"So you gon think about it or nah?" Jai'erre says, trying to change the subject back. La'monte sighs. "Man, I'll think about it. Now leave me alone, I thought you had places to be."
"I do, I'll text you later. Meet me at my dorm when I do." Jai'erre stands up from the table, dapping La'monte up. "Aight, I'll see you." He quickly leaves the library, taking his phone out of his pocket.
There were 4 missed calls already. He clicked on one of the missed calls, as the phone rung for a few seconds.
"So now you wanna pick up. I was about to send somebody to find you." A deep voice came from the other side of the phone. Jai'erre swallowed slowly. "My bad Cobra, I was just making my last play."
The man on the other side of the phone hummed in response. "Thats the boy you was wantin' to work for me?" He says.
"Yeah, he told me he'd think about it. But, I know he gon say yeah." Jai'erre says.
"Well, just make sure you be here before 9. I got more stuff for you to give out." The call ended soon after.
Jai'erre put his phone into his back pocket, sighing.
"So, you still with that girl?" Jai'erre lights up the lighter, holding it up towards the blunt in his mouth. La'monte sat in the beanbag chair across from him.
"Oh you mean cookie? Hell yeah, she really got me stuck." He laughs. Jai'erre hands him the blunt, sitting back into his bed. "Make sure she don't get you stuck for real, like with a kid or some shit."
