✎ Hello again my dear readers :) with the release of the second chapter of the rewrite, I would just like to thank you all for your overwhelming support. It's been approximately 2 years since the release of this book and I never would have anticipated that it'd reach such an immense amount of love. So thank you, all of you :)

Turning the doorknob and letting the door creak open, I am greeted with the comfort of my home. Before entering, I take off my shoes. I took notice of something small and red in my peripheral vision, leaving myself in a balance as I squinted to see what it was.

It was...a dead ladybug.

"Awww... tragic."

I slipped off my other shoe and entered my apartment. Muscle memory prompted myself to toss my keys on the key rack beside the door.

Only, the key did not catch anything, but tumbled straight to the floor with a small thud.

"Huh." I shifted my gaze back and forth from the keys on the floor to the apparently missing key rack.

"Wait- where the fuc-" I glanced over my apartment in an attempt to find where it was. It somehow found itself fixated next to my fridge.

"I didn't move that there...did i?" I questioned, an uneasy feeling filled my senses. I shrugged it off, I should be focusing on that assignment I've been procrastinating on that's due midnight.

I trudged over to my desk, plopping myself into my swivel chair, spinning it once before preparing myself for the consequences of my procrastination.

"Now let's see..." I turn my gaze toward my analog clock. It read '10:26'. "Ahhh, now let's see how I'll manage to conjure a 2000 word essay out of my ass in the span of an hour and a half- heh." With my poor attempt at self motivation, I crack my knuckles and type away.

It was now around 11:30 PM. With the aid of merely rewording other similar essays I found online, I found myself about 90% finished with the essay. I wiped the non-existent sweat from my forehead and reached for my water.

*thud*

My heart skipped a beat as my head swiftly turned to the bookshelf behind me. The silence that wrapped this room was now more deafening as a wave of eeriness enveloped the room.

A book that was once neatly and snuggly tucked between two other books had somehow found its way to the floor.

"Can you...not? Maybe?" I wearily warned no one in particular, as my eyes quickly shifted left to right in an attempt to maybe find what may have caused the book to fall. I bend down and return the book into its rightful place.

After giving a stink side-eye to the shelf (like that did anything) I make my way back to my desk.

"How odd..."
