Chapter 19

Swimming is usually the time where Dylan forgets about everything. It is his moment of peace where every thing is calm and serene. Life is at his fingertips and the world is blocked out.

But right now he can't get Liana out of his mind. She's beautiful, full of life. Different from many of the girls that he has ever met. Usually he keeps a girl around only for temporary pleasure and nothing else. But with Liana he knows deep down in his gut that that is not going to happen.

He didn't want to her to leave his side earlier and even at this moment he wants to hop out of the water to see if she is okay. He's worried sick about her. What kind of money problems could she have that would make work even through pain. Is it bad credit? Loan problems? Is she behind on bills? He knows a lot of people that can help her with that if she'd just ask, but she's so uptight and set on doing things her way.

She should be at her home right now. He can only imagine just how bad her pain is. He didn't miss the way she rubbed her chest and sometimes winced when she thought that he wasn't looking. He's always looking though, when she's around he never miss a beat of what she's doing.

He never wants to relive what happened again. He's scarred for life after seeing that. He wouldn't wish that kind of torture on his worst enemy. That was the first time he felt a body so lifeless.

It was amazing to see her smiling and back full of life this morning. She's a fighter. She's trying to will her body to a speedy recovery.

Her smile was what he needed to see when he woke up. He didn't know just how much he needed it until he finally felt himself began to breath after seeing her bright flash of happiness. His whole mood had been lifted and his heart began to beat normally.

What is this girl doing to him. After only two days, she has managed to change his whole life. He'll never be the same.

Things are going to fast for him. He needs things to slow down so that he can sit down and think.

After this meet tomorrow he'll take that time to get his thoughts together.

Train blew his whistle once again. What is it this time.

Dylan stopped mid lap and swam over to him.

He doesn't look to happy. He bent down to his level. "I asked you to run to loosen your muscles in your legs because you have been swimming slow and losing pace fast. Can you tell me what you were just doing?"

"You've been swimming laps," Coach took the liberty to answer for him. "You seem very distracted. Is everything all right."

He nodded even though he knows it's a lie, but his problem can't be fixed so there isn't a need to tell the truth.

"Your manager is here to see you. Your lawyer is here with him also. Go to them, they say you have an important meeting."

Dylan shook his head. He needs to stay in this damn pool and meditate until there is nothing to think about except for the water and how fast he can get from one end to the other. And to keep repeating that until everything blurs into one.

"You won't be gone for long. You need this break to get yourself together."

He's right. He has been so deep into his thoughts that he can't even remember what he's done for the past hour. He's like a swimming zombie. And he also has not checked on Liana yet. This would be the perfect time.

He got out of the water and went straight into the hall.

Anthony is standing there waiting for him in his notorious business suit.
