Ch. 3 - "Between Us, I Think There's Something Special."

Recap:
(F/N) comes back from the failed second take in frustration. She takes a short break at home to settle down her thoughts before going into the third take. All seems to be going well, in fact even better, but she is still denied by Fushiguro. So she tries different approaches, fourth aggressively, fifth as an ass-kisser, and sixth blatantly. All of which didn't succeed. (F/N) tries to put the pieces together in her room as to why none of the encounters work, shuffling through her collection of video games and manga. This causes her to have a "Bingo!" moment, and she adds a new wish based off of Noragami and Soul Eater in hopes that Fushiguro will accept.

TAKE 7

After we get settled and ready to go, we arrive at the usual scene. Genie is floating above me, circling around my head as I hold a determined look.

'Y'know, you could've just wrote "nobody can see or hear Genie" so that we don't have to get used to this weird mind stuff. Now I can hear all your thoughts and you can probably hear mine.'

I visibly flinch, not expecting to hear Genie in my thoughts already. 'Jumpscare warning, you bum! And no, then I'd have to actually talk back to you, which will make people think I'm some weird psycho. Think smart, dumbass. It may be weird now that we know what we are thinking, but think of it as an advantage.'

I didn't realize that the entire time I was staring and "talking" with Genie, the entire interaction between Kong and Fushiguro passed, and Fushiguro was nowhere to be spotted. When I did, my heart raced with anxiety.

'Oh no. He's not there. What do I do? Restart?'

'No, let's look for him! For all we know he probably saw you spacing out like a creep and ran away.'

'Thanks for the reassurance, asshole.'

'You're welcome.'

'I was being sarcastic.'

Shaking my head to clear my thoughts, I start looking around, just realizing that I never got to know the layout of this place. I felt worry make its way to my expression, as I started looking to my right, then left.

'Left is where Kong went after the interaction. If he went left, that must be the exit, no? Maybe I have to exit then enter the building again. Better than wandering around aimlessly.'

Genie sighed aloud as it watched me follow where Kong went before following along.

'I take back what I said. I don't want to get lost, so let's redo take 7. I don't think this even counts.'

'Honestly, great minds think alike.'

TAKE 7 (AGAIN)

'So, you can travel to scenes without having to leave? That's convenient.'

'I never specified that I had to leave in order to go to a scene in the first place.'

With that, we both stood silent to not repeat the same mistake of getting too engrossed in our conversations. We watched as Kong walked off soon after, which was our cue to approach Fushiguro.

"Mr. Fushiguro, correct? I'm (L/N) (F/N) and I want to speak to you about your mission."

"Yes, what of it?" Predictably, he turns his head to look at me with a straight face.
