Someone was calling me now? Whoever it was better have a good reason why they are calling. Now. Not before this. Not after this. Right now.
"Leave it." He begged, his lips so close that I could feel them brush against mine as he spoke.
"I can't, sorry." I said as I leant away from him. I pulled the phone out of my right front pocket. How could it be there? I didn't know anything other than clothes could be there when you changed back. But I hadn't thought about it when I was changing back so how could it be there? I looked at the screen. Sonny. I was going to kill her. I looked over at Daniel. He was looking straight ahead, out over the cliff. The sun was just a sliver and there was the tiniest bit of light still left. It wasn't much, it was just that little bit before it got completely dark. I hit the green phone button to take the call.
"What? I was kinda in the middle of something." I said angrily.
"What do you me-" she started but realised what I meant.
"Yeah. Why were you calling?"
"Oh my God! I can't believe this!" she said then screamed. I jumped and held the phone away from my ear. When I couldn't hear it blasting out of the phone anymore I put it back at my ear.
"Well nothing happened, thanks to you."
"Oh my God! Are you serious? Did I interrupt?"
"Yes you did! Now. Why did you call?" I said. I wasn't mad anymore.
"I just wanted to see what you were up to. I guess you were up to a lot."
"Well, thank you for that."
"What did you say?"
"I'm not telling you!"
"What? You have to!"
"Fine. I'll tell you tomorrow."
"No, now!"
"I can't!"
"Is he there?"
"No he just got up and left." I said. How could this be happening again? I must have the worst luck. Two nights in a row I'd almost had it.
"Oh. Tell me tomorrow then!"
"I will." I said. The phone was taken out of my hand. "Hey!" I said to Daniel.
"Hello?" he said into the phone. I reached over and tried to grab it back but he leant to the other side so I couldn't reach it. He listened to what Sonny was saying on the other end. I was so going to kill her. "What do you mean tell me what she said?" he said. Oh no! I shook my head at him but he just smiled sweetly at me. He couldn't. "She said something about desserts." He said into the phone. I was dead. All of a sudden he held the phone away from his ear and I heard her screaming from the other end then her laugh echoed out of the phone. He put the phone back up to his ear when it died down. "I didn't expect it, not by a long shot."- He listened to what she was saying- "Yeah it did, well nearly, but yeah it worked."- He listened to what she had to say again-"What?"- He paused then his eyebrows shot up in surprise- "First kiss?" He said and looked at me. "Oh no it's ok. I knew you didn't mean to." He continued. I fell back onto the ground and covered my face with my hands. Did she really just say that to him? He wasn't supposed to know, you don't tell guys that! "Ok. Yep, I will. Bye Sonny." He said again. I took my hands away from my face. I saw him hit a button on my phone. The end call button. He turned and a bit of his shirt rose, revealing a sliver of tanned skin. He put my phone on the picnic basket. He looked back at me and I covered my face again. As if I wasn't going to kill Sonny already, she had to mention the fact that I hadn't had my first kiss. But I guess not having your first kiss younger than sixteen was ok because that meant you weren't too young. I was nearly sixteen though so I thought, maybe. I felt him looming over me.
"I can't believe you did that!" I said to him through my hands.
"I had to." He said.
"You could've asked."
"Would you've told me?"
"Probably not."
"See? I had to. Come on beautiful, don't be mad at me." He said and started kissing the back of my hands. He brushed his lips against them, teasing me.
"Who said I was mad?"
"Then take your hands away from that pretty face of yours then." He said. I did. "Much better." He continued. His blue eyes were sparkling when he looked down at me.
"Much better for what?"
"Dessert." He said and leaned down. I put my arms around his neck. When he was centimetres away from my lips, I shut my eyes. Then I felt his lips touch mine and I pulled him closer to me. His lips were so soft against mine. The kiss was slow at first but then we both wanted more. My heart fluttered inside my chest as he opened his mouth and mine followed. He closed his mouth and then I closed mine. He seemed to know what he was doing and I had no idea so I just followed his lead. I thought back to all the movies I'd watched. It was like I was in one of the movies, kissing like that. His hands were either side of my face so that he was holding himself up but then he rolled over onto his back and as my hands were around his neck, I followed so I was on top of him. I felt his body moving underneath me. I felt his chest rise and fall quickly as he breathed in and out. I felt his heart pounding inside his chest, like mine. I moved my hands from his neck and buried them in his shaggy blonde-brown hair and his hands ran up and down my sides. The kiss got faster and hotter very quickly. Was I doing it right? Well, he wasn't complaining, at least, about it so I must be doing something right. His lips left mine and started tracing my jaw line. Then he started kissing my neck. I wasn't as satisfied with that at this given moment in time.
"No." I murmured and brought his lips back up to mine from my neck. The kiss slowed down so it went back to slow and soft. His hands went back to my hips but my shirt was raised and his hands touched my bare skin. I should probably... My hands were on his chest and in the next second they were on the first button of his shirt. I started to undo it. Before I knew it I'd undone it and my hands laid on his bare chest. "No." I said and got off of him when I realised what I'd done. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that." I continued and pointed to his top button.
"It's ok." He said as he did it up.
"No it's not. I shouldn't have done it." I said. He cupped my face with his hands and brushed his lips against mine. I bit my lip. It tasted of him.
"It's ok." He said again. "Come here." He continued and came and sat beside me. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and I laid my head on his shoulder. He kissed my forehead. I wonder what time it is. It must be close to seven surely. I wrapped my arms around him, then moved my arms and leaned back. He followed me and I put my head on his shoulder again. I looked up at the sky. The stars were shining brightly and there were millions of them. They just covered the whole sky. How come I couldn't see this many from my house at night? It must be because it's darker out here so you can see them better and it's clearer.
"It's beautiful." I said to him.
"Yeah, just like you." He said. My heart fluttered. He just called me beautiful, again. I smiled and licked my bottom lip. It still tasted like him. I hoped that that taste never left my lips. We looked up at the sky in silence for a long time before eventually; I fell asleep in his arms.
