Walked outside into the freezing frost
Wet hair turned to icicles, I didn't mind
You didn't mind the sand in your rice
Carried me on your back through the nightYou worked in the fields until you bled
I washed and cooked and made the bed
So days were lived, if not well and wild
We loved enough, so I bore you a childCause I knew you'd stay by my side
When my legs give up on walking
When my hair turns snowy white
You'll feed me and change my clothes
like you did with our childAnd you knew I'd still find you handsome
Even though your teeth fell out
And even though my head is misty
I'll laugh and put you in your place
Cause that's what we do, at the end of the day
