CHICAGO IL,
TASHA'S CRIBTasha's POV:
I'm on Face Time catching up with my old friend Kaleyah. Me and Kaleyah were very close and stayed in the same apartment complex. Her dad was working at the time and her Momma was a SAHM and had a steady income for the both of them which means all she had to do was babysit their children. But one day, her Momma gotta call that her Dad had an Epileptic Seizure at work. They drove to his job, picked him up, and took him to the hospital but... couldn't save him and he died.
After his death Kaleyah's mother was forced to find a job but since she hadn't worked in a while and was so used to staying at home she found it difficult. She was always late on rent payments and always made an excuse for when to pay it. They started struggling to buy food and household goods and the Landlord finally had enough and decided to evict them where they were forced to leave and Kaleyah and I couldn't see each other.
It's been 3 years since we saw each other, we still talk on the phone every now and then and I found out that Kaleyah and her mother were staying at her aunts house. I'm happy to be talking to her again since my attitude completely changed ever since she left although I would never say that to her. "So how's it been living with yo aunt?" I ask. "It's been ight although I still miss my old house to this day" she said sighing. I finally decided that I would tell her about my "lil boo" I got. "Guess what?" I said. "What?" she replied. "Girl guess" I said rolling my eyes. "Uh... you finna get a car?" She said raising a brow. "Mcht girl no I'm seeing somebody at the moment" I said as I twirled a piece of hair around. "Really?" She said. "Mhm" I said covering my face. "Who? What's his name?" She asked intrigued. "His name is Corey and he into sports or whateva" I said looking at my nails.
"Ooou ok girl I see you" she said smirking through the phone. "What typa sports he play?" She asked. "He hoop and run track" I said rolling my eyes. "Mmmm ok what he look like?" She asked. Damn since when was this an Interrogation? "He brownskin, he got brown dreads, and he 6,2" I said giggling. " Dang that's crazy, we'll that's good to hear he be treating you right?" She asked. I thought for a moment. 'I mean we've been ight for these two months but he been acting kinda weird not picking up that phone quick enough'. "Of course girl I ain't boutta let a nigga treat me like shit he got the right one" I said with a lil sas . I'm glad I said that too because I ain't boutta slip up and tell this girl what been going on between me and my nigga that's not her place to know. Yeah we used to be locked in but, ian heard from this girl in 3 years despite the fact that we talk every now and then. For some reason I could sense a wave of Envy and Animosity through the phone by the way she was asking me a buncha questions like I talk to her on the regular and her trying to cover it up by "faking support " I could tell she ain't like what I was saying.
