CHICAGO IL,
MARIYAH'S CRIBMariyah's POV:
"Riyah hurry up I gotta pee!" Adam shouted through the door. Adam is my older brother but he only two years older than me so he's older but not that old. (He's not really important in this story but whatever) "Alright chill!" I shouted back. I spat out the leftover toothpaste from my mouth and opened the door. Adam pushed me aside and went in, shutting the door quickly. "Boi watch who you pushin like that!" I shouted before leaving. I went in the kitchen and saw my mother at the table reading papers.
"Hey mom" I said, opening the fridge and getting a bottle of water. "Hey baby" she said back. She looked as if she was stressed, there were two sheets pieces of paper laid out on the table. "What's those papers for?" I asked walking towards her. "Just our light and water bill" she said. "You okay? you look stressed" I said sitting down next to her. "I'm alright sweetie don't worry about me" she said. We sat in silence for a while until she said "Did you study today? I think that homework due Friday" she asked. "Uh huh I studied while you were at the store" I said, closing my water bottle.
"That's my girl" she said as she kissed my forehead. "Moooom" I said, rolling my eyes playfully. She laughed and said "I want chu to keep studying and keep them grades up you hear?" I smiled and said "Got it" she nodded and said "Good now getchu some rest I'll take of this" she said pointing at the papers. "Ok" I said and made my way upstairs.

Jayla's POV:"Thank goodness I'm finally done!" I said closing my textbook. "JAYLA SHANICE BOOKER" My mother shouted from downstairs. 'Ohhh shiiit what'd I do now' I thought. "YEAH MA??" I shouted back. "COME HERE" she shouted. My heart dropped to my stomach as I thought 'No no no no' I got up and went downstairs but didn't see her in the living room. "I'm in the kitchen" she said. "Ok" I said as I walked into the kitchen to see my mother with a stern look and her hands on her hip. "Yes Momma?" I said. I screwed my eyes shut, thinking of the worse case scenario. "Why did you leave all these dishes in this sink??" She asked pointing to the sink. I froze. 'Wait...What? I'm not in trouble?' I thought. "Huh?" I said. "Why did you leave all these dishes in this damn sink?!" She repeated. I went over to the sink to see a single fork laying peacefully in the sink.
"Ma it's only a fork in there?" I said confused. "I don't care why would you leave that right there ain't no maids in here" she said. I wanted to laugh right then and there but I was NOT trynna get the taste slapped out ma mouth. "Ok ma I'll clean it alright?" I said. "Good" she said before walking away and sitting on the couch. 'Well.. that was weird' I thought before squirting some dish soap on a towel and cleaning the fork.
(I decided to leave this chapter short and basic but lemme know if y'all parents are like this 😂)
