MARIYAH'S BASEMENT
THIRD PERSON POV:
Mariyah decided to host her 17th birthday in her basement. Now as weird as that might sound, the way it was decorated you wouldn't have been able to tell that this was a basement the way it was set up. There was a beautiful ballon arch kit with pink, white, and metallic balloons (all her favorite colors)
You could see silver foil curtains in the background as well as a snack and drink section (with complete junk food 😌)
In the back you could see a dining area where delicious food was being served (seafood) and there HUGE speakers blasting the newish Gen Z songs (SZA Drake Ice Spice Odetari etc) There were LED lights added to the ceiling to make it for aesthetic and to make it look realistic.
There was a cute banner sign with words 'Happy Birthday' printed on it and dozens of gifts that were prepared in the corner of the room. The decor and preparations were amazing and Mariyah was truly enjoying herself with her family and a few cousins.

"Damn riyah you fucking that candy up that was yo 5th piece already" Jayla said, laughing at her friend as she stuffed her mouth with candy.
"I can't help it bestie you know laffy taffy's are my favorite" she said, reaching for another piece of candy. "And besides it's my birthday" she added.
"I guess" Jayla said sheepishly.
" Oh my goodness girls y'all look so cute and y'all lil outfits" Destiny (Mariah's Mom) said walking over to the two.
"Thanks auntie" Jayla replied turning to face her.
"Let me see y'all nails" she said smiling.
The two girls reached forward and showed their nails. "Awww these are so pretty and they match just like y'all outfits" she said laughing.
"Thanks ma" Mariyah replied. "Anyways, y'all don't eat too much candy cuz y'all gotta eat plus we gotta bring in the cake and sing happy birthday" she said.
"Don't worry auntie we won't" Jayla replied.
"Once we sing happy birthday then Mariyah's gonna open her gifts and we can get some pictures of y'all" Destiny added. "Ok ma we know, now can we pleaseee have some alone time?" Mariyah asked rolling her eyes. "Ok watch who you rollin' yo eyes at girl and I was just making sure" she said walking away. "Finally, she's so embarrassing" she whispered playfully. "LMAOO you a trip" Jayla said.
"Wassup Riyah" a familiar voice said. "Hm?" Mariyah replied as the girls turned around. "Over here" a familiar girl walks up. "Oh hey cee cee I ain't seen you in a while" Mariyah said walking closer to the girl. "Huh?" Jayla said confused. "Oh Jae Jae I forgot to mention this is my cousin Ciara" Mariyah introduced the two. "Heyyy" she said, tucking a hair behind her ear. "And Ciara this is my best friend Jayla" Mariyah told Ciara.
"Nice to meet you..." Jayla said eyeing her.
The girls stared at each other for a few minutes until Mariyah cleared her throat and broke the silence.
"Um anyways... let's go to the dining area I'm starving" Mariyah said grabbing Jayla's hand.
TIME SKIP>>
"Ok is everybody full?" Destiny asked everyone. "Yesss that was so good momma" Mariyah replied. "What about you Adam?" Destiny added. "Yeah I'm good ma" He told her. "Ciara? Chris?" she asked turning around. "Yeah we ight" they said in sync.
"Okay now we just hafta sing happy birthday and Mariyah can open her gifts and ya know we gotta get pictures too" she said laughing. "Okay let me go get the cake"
Everyone sings happy birthday as Mariyah blushed in shyness. They eat the cake and go to the back where dozens of presents are neatly wrapped. "Hmmm which one should I open first?" Mariyah asked. "Which either one you want baby" Destiny says. "Ooou open mine!" Jayla exclaimed in excitement. "Ok ok" Mariyah said as she picked up a rectangular box. She opened it, and saw shoes that were custom made in rose gold, metallic, and white sequin that had the letter "M" printed on the toe boxes and had had small crystals on the outsoles. Mariyah gasps and awe as she looked at the precious shoes. "Oh my gooood Jae Jae..." she looked up at her poking her bottom lip out.
"You like em?" Jayla asked knowingly. "YESSS I love them! how did you get these shoes custom made?" Mariyah asked in excitement. "Well I was originally gonna get you regular shoes but I recently had discovered an app that customizes shoes so I got all yo favorite colors" Jayla said smiling at her. "Thank you so much bestie I love you so much" Mariyah said closing the box. "No problem love you too" Jayla replied. "I'm definitely gonna wear these to school 'specially since I love sequin too" Mariyah said teasingly.
Mariyah continued to open gifts received by her family and thanked them from the kindness of her heart. She got to take pictures with her friends and family all until the party was over.
TIME SKIP >>
"Alright everybody I hope y'all hadda good time cuz I sure did" Destiny said laughing. "But the party is over now so let's start cleaning up before y'all go" Destiny added. "Whew that was fun" Jayla said. "I know right" Mariyah added. "Jayla when you get done cleaning up get yo purse so we could go" Ronda (Jayla's Mom) said. "Ok ma I'll be there inna sec" Jayla replied.
They clean up and say their goodbyes hugging each other tightly as if they aren't gonna see each other the next day for school. 😑
"Byeee Jae Jae I'm gonna miss you..." Mariyah said fake crying. "Girl calm down we gonna see each other tomorrow" Jayla replied laughing. "Oh right" she said. "Well text me when you get hope ok?" Mariyah said. "Fasho" Jayla replied. "Ight bye see you tomorrow" Mariyah said.
Whew chile this chapter was SO LONG good thing I'm making this book 30 chapters 🙄
