CHAPTER 2- campaigning and election night

It's been around a month since you announced your running for the highest office of the united states and to say it was going to be a close election was an understatement, of course having Jenna endorse you brought a lot of support and so did other political endorsements but the one thing holding you back from a landslide was your age, for the first time in the history of the presidency a man bellow the age of thirty five

And as you knew it would, it made the american voters unsure of your experience while you were one of the five best governors of your state it still wasn't enough so all you could do is try to convince the people 

Now however, you were walking onto the stage in front of hundreds of people who are supporting your campaign, once at the podium you smile and wave at the crowd, the crowd cheers back with joy as you thank them for attending your rally 

y/n: you know...my most asked questions about me are simple, 'who are you?' 'what are you doing?'  'why are you doing this?' the answer is simple to, i am y/n l/n, a man who loves his country and its people. i am a man who wants to protect the country i love. i am a man who's grown sick and tired of the world seeing us as a joke, as something to be pushed around and used....at one point america was the single most feared, respected and loved country on the planet. under my presidency that will return"

To say the crowd started yelling and cheering at the top of their lungs was an understatement, the entire thing brought great joy and glee to your heart 

And from behind the stage, Jenna stood with nothing but a proud expression on her face and in her eyes 

Jenna: that's the man i love"

Her phone then rings so she walks away from the loud crowd 

The crowd soon died down so you continued to talk about your future presidency, but like all things, the rally soon came to an end after four hours, you were wiped out as you and Jenna were driven home but you found the energy to stay awake and hold Jenna in your arms 

_/\/\/\/\-Election Night-/\/\/\/\_

You and your family were sitting in your living room watching the entire election going down and it was close, as of right now you and your opponent were tied, even 50/50 but with the last few states and electoral college results coming in everyone was on the edge of their seats

The states you were waiting for were; Texas, Maine, Wyoming, New mexico and California

Reporter: mister l/n wins Texas, no surprise there, lets go to Wyoming....and former president Alan wins Maine"

Jenna: three more states left"

Reporter: mister l/n wins Montana and former president Alan wins California so now we are waiting for the last few results from New mexico to determine the next president of the untied states"

Everyone's hearts were racing, both your families and the supporters waiting in your front yard, it all came down to one. single. state 

Reporter: and the results from New mexico just came in and....mister l/n wins New mexico!, ladies and gentlemen the votes are in.y/n l/n is tonight's winner and the next president of the united states!"

Everyone outside cheers and starts chanting your name and your family jumps up in victory but you sit for a second still processing what you just heard but once it hits you stand up and one by one your mom, dad and loving girlfriend give you a hug 

y/n: I-I cant-...I'm the president now...holy shit"

D/n: congrats son, looks like i work for you now"

You shake your fathers hand before giving him another hug but after a few seconds he pulls away and pats you on the shoulders 

D/n: ill go out and get the crowd ready"

You nod and the now four star general as he walks out of the house 

M/n: ill go with him, you two should have a minute"

She then smiles and follows your dad out as you and Jenna stand in front of each other just staring awkwardly 

y/n: y'know, if you told middle school me that i'd be the president one day i'd laugh"

Jenna: and if you told high school me that one day i'd date the president i'd laugh as well"

Jenna the closes the gap between the two of you as she wraps her arms around you and looks up at you

you then place a kiss on her lips but as you pull away she pulls you back in for a deep, long and passionate kiss

When you two pull away for air she pulls away and meets your gaze with a smile 

Jenna: go greet the crowd...mister president elect"

y/n: i love you"

You then turn and walk to the front door 

D/n: ladies and gentlemen. the president elect"

you take a deep breath before opening the door to a loud crowd
