CHAPTER 3- inauguration

Your inauguration was today and after several hours you arrived at the capital, You greeted the press and shook their hands as you walked through the nation's capital but when you walked onto the balcony you took your seat as your dad stepped up to the podium 

D/n: Ladies and gentlemen, it's an honor to introduce the Chief Justice of the United States Javier Angle Sanchez who will administer the presidential oath of office. Everyone, please stand"

Your father then joined you by your stand alongside your entire family as you walked to the side of the podium, Jenna then extended the bible towards you 

Javier: Please raise your right hand and repeat after me"

You then set your left hand on the bible before you raise your right hand

Javier: I y/n l/n; do solemnly swear"

Javier: That I will faithfully execute"

y/n: That I will faithfully execute"

Javier: The office of the United States"

Javier: And will to the best of my ability"

Javier: Preserve, protect, and defend"

Javier: The constitution of the United States"

y/n: The Constitution of the United States"

Javier: So help me God"

y/n: So help me God"

The Chief justice then smiles and shakes your hand

Javier: Congratulations mister President"

y/n: Thank you"

The man nodded and walked away, you and your family then hugged one by one before you went off and shook the hands of other major political figures but after all was said and done your father stepped back up to the podium 

D/n: It's with great honor that I present the forty-seventh President of the United States, y/n l/n"

You smiled and thanked him as he stepped away from the podium, you then stepped up to the podium and cleared your throat before speaking  

My fellow Americans, today is a great day for our nation. As I stand before you with my vision for America under my administration, I am filled with hope and determination for our future. Together, we will build a stronger, more respected America....We must focus on our economy, which has been facing many challenges. We will create jobs, support small businesses, and invest in our infrastructure. By doing so, we will create an environment that encourages growth and success for every. single. American

Alongside this, we must also address our immigration policy. We will secure our borders and enforce our laws, we have to. for my first and second years, I will admit. immigration will be extremely strict. Our broken nation is not in any shape to accept everyone but once it is fixed I plan on striping Immigration to its bare bones and rebuilding it to suit the modern era of America 

In addition, we must strengthen our foreign policy. We will work with our allies to combat terrorism and promote peace and stability around the world. We will improve our relationships with other countries and make America a leader in global affairs. just as it used to be. now let me be crystal clear, I am not going to be a war monger. I will not invade a single country without a very good reason"

Finally, we will back our dollar with hard currency to ensure the strength and stability of our economy. and make sure allies like BRICs won't be able to push us out of the global economy. We will make America a country that others look up to and respect. I am done allowing the world to laugh and joke about us.... Together, we can make America respected and strong again. Let us work together to build a better future for ourselves and our children. Thank you. May God bless you and may God bless America"

The energy in the air was nothing but love and patriotism as the crowd erupted into cheers and applause, people clapped as hard as they could or waved their posters, signs, and flags with the same amount of passion 

There were no words to describe how happy you were about it but your smile was all someone needed to see to know, you step away from the podium before joining your family

You sit down between Jenna and your mother as Jenna leans to your side and whispers in your ear

Jenna: That was an amazing speech y/n. i love you so much"

You place a kiss on her forehead before pulling her into a side hug

y/n: Thank you Jen. I love you too"

Your attention is then turned to your mother due to her squeezing your hand so Jenna pulls away and you turn your head toward your mother

M/n: I just want you to know I'm so proud of you."

y/n: thank you mom"

Your father then leans forward from his seat and smiles at you 

F/n: congratulations mister President"

y/n: thank you"

There was a lot of uncertainty in your head right now but you knew enough to know that the real work starts tomorrow
